Social Group Pics not displaying.
<a href="http://hmandsforums.oliwy.net/forums/group.php" target="_blank">http://hmandsforums.oliwy.net/forums/group.php</a>
We just get the tiny little thumbnail dot, with no images displaying on the page. Images can be seen inside the group, but on the start page that leads to groups? We just get the grey thumbnail. |
Try Admin CP » Maintenance » Update Counters » Rebuild Social Group Icon Thumbnails.
|
I did that. Still didn't work.
|
Are you storing your Social Group Icons in the database? You can try moving them to the file system in the Social Group controls. You probably have to run the counters update again after doing so.

Okay for my social group icons storage options, I have...
Social Group Icon File Path This file path should be readable AND writeable by your web server (usually chmod 0777) ./customgroupicons and URL to Social Group Icons (Relative to your forums home page) customgroupicons I don't have anything I can tick. I just have below these two, a button that says GO and another one beside it says RESET. |

So what do I do here? The question marks on the far right don't really help.

Not the question marks. The radio buttons. These:
Attachment 125077 Since I already have my icons stored in the file system, then I only have access to the second and third radio buttons. You should have a radio button by the first option. |
AHHH Okay. I don't have any radio buttons. I'm on version 3.8.6, does that have anything to do with it?
|
What do you have, form fields? I thought they didn't implement that until 4.x. Okay, if that's the case, then you should already be set up if it says "Social Group Icons are currently being served from the database" or similar. If that's what is says, the you should just be able to click go, making sure that the customgroupicons folder is properly CHMOD 777'd first.

Also, remember you have to run Update Counters again. |
Okay I went into my file manager, changed the permissions to 777 for my customgroupicons folder, then ran the counter thing again, and still no dice.
--------------- Added [DATE]1293932874[/DATE] at [TIME]1293932874[/TIME] --------------- SUCCESS! I clicked the reset button, and then clicked go and it took me to a page which said we are attempting to move your social group icons to the filesystem. It did so successfully after I clicked go, and now they're all coming up in thumbnail form. Problem solved! |
