Last night... in bed... I was going over many things in my head about my forum... specifically, how to make things better with mods, etc. Suddenly, I thought of a mod that would be so awesome, it could be be mod of the month or perhaps mod of the year!!! Well, that is if someone could build it (not me lol). So... I went back and forth weather I should get up and document my idea. I decided I was too tired and just went to sleep.

Now here I am in the morning... and I have spent the last hour trying to remember my idea. I can't, for the life of me, remember! Just driving me nuts! I only remember how good I felt because I thought it would be an extremely useful mod for any forum owner.

Sorry... had to vent.

best idea ever: buy a iPad and keep it on side of bed, so it is ready to use when nighty-ideas arise...

I just wish I could remember. Still lost on it. I just remember that it would be really cool mod for admins/mods.

Maybe it was a button that automatically prevents all spam?

It was the mod that automatically creates on topic posts and responds to them.

If I had a dollar for every perfect idea I'd dreamed up in a daydream, nightmare or regular ol' fashion dream...I'd be the richest person in the world!

I would then take some of that money and hire Nexia to dream up (and code of course) fabulous modifications that I could pay him handsomely for. I would then market them at vBFabulous.net, charging handsomely overpriced fee for them as vBulletin is apparently getting away with as seen via vB 4 and and the newly high-priced mobile app o.O

More money MORE MONEY ka-ching!

I'm probably the only one who searched for "vBFabulous.net" thinking Jac had a secret site...lol...but on the plus side - seems that domain is open.....lol.

Well, I certainly didn't intend on making any money on whatever it was.. was going to post it in the "mod request" section hoping some coder would do it for free (if it was even possible). But, again, I still can't remember what the heck it was.

You don't need an 800$ ipad to remember your ideas, just a simple notepad and pen will work. :p
I try to always carry something around I can write on so when those ideas do come, I can write it down and read it later when I have more time. ;)

Have you ever tried writing something in the middle of the night when you are still half asleep? How in the world do you decipher that??? ;)

I once dreamed an elaborate science fiction story, as if I were living it through the eyes of the characters. Woke up, and grabbed a pen and paper and started writing as much of it as I could remember. It faded fast and anything that happened towards the start of the story completely dissipated. But I got enough to begin work on a short story that's very different from anything I've ever read in the past. I should finish it up and post it one day.

Nice! I actually started a promising project. To chronicle my dreams in a collection of poetry. I have like 2 or 3 pieces and ... kinda got lazy. One day I might finish it. It's certainly a novel idea.

Anyway yeah - you should definitely share. And possibly even over at JPiC if you like... Once registrations are open again in the next few days :)

Ya I have.,. it might be a little scribbly, but you can get the jist of what you were trying to say.

Then again, there's always a Galaxy Tab. I also like to use my phone for notes. I didn't think I'd like the Swipe Keys, but I've actually gotten pretty good at it.

I read somewhere that if you relax and look upwards, and to the left, then you'll be able to remember what you have forgotten. Of course it's never worked for me but it might work for you. Writing things down works best for me. I find that once I've written it down (or typed it) it becomes committed to memory.
You could always have a dictaphone handy ... or a secretary :p

actually correcting weather as a real error is different from Gist VS jist, as both words mean the same, jist is an alternative spelling of the first.

Honestly, I learned long ago to quit being lazy and get up out of bed when that thought hits you, jot it down then work on your plan of global online dominatio.... err I've said too much already long story short just write it down when it first hits and your set ;).

iPad can also be paper of bad quality, the media is not important... keep papier and efficient pen on your side-table... :) a glowing pen is great!

bw Michael, to have your plan executed, you need at least some good time of sleep each night, aside of the baby, wife and dogs barking at the neighbours... i'm all with you on the goal... rofl
