KeyCAPTCHA - Interactive CAPTCHA with Social Features

We always thanked, we thank, and we shall always thank those who clicked Mark as Installed or bothered to write ANY feedback about KeyCAPTCHA

KeyCAPTCHA - Interactive CAPTCHA
Unlike many other captchas, it does not require any text typing.

Social Features:
You may support charity funds by enabling social advertising in KeyCAPTCHA. Also you can earn money by specifying social and commercial advertising shares in KeyCAPTCHA on your website.

Free Variants of Using KeyCAPTCHA:
  1. Anti-spam protection. Social advertising. Monetization through commercial ads.
  2. Anti-spam protection. Monetization through commercial ads.
  3. Anti-spam protection. Social advertising.
  4. Anti-spam protection without any ads.
Integration with vBulletin Human Verified Actions:
  • Register
  • Post
  • Contact Us
  • Search
  • Recover Lost Password
KeyCAPTCHA Unique Technologies
  • Instead of guessing symbols, our CAPTCHA offers visitors to complete an easy interactive task.
  • If KeyCAPTCHA hasn't been solved correctly, page refreshing doesn't take place that allows the user not to fill in the form repeatedly. It occurs since there is an initial checkup of CAPTCHAs in the KeyCAPTCHA servers before sending a filled-in form to the protected web server.
  • Our CAPTCHA also can be used even if your hosting provider blocks all outgoing connections.
Effective Anti-Spam Protection
  • The geo-cluster is used to operate KeyCAPTCHA service. Our geo-cluster includes the servers located in diverse European data centers. Some servers are in the special DDoS stable data centers in Switzerland to ensure trouble-free 24x7x365 mode service operation.
  • KeyCAPTCHA blocks spammers using anonymizers or anonymous HTPP proxies to distribute a hand spam.
  • There is no info of correct CAPTCHA solution in the visitor's browser.
  • CAPTCHA verification is processed by the KeyCAPTCHA servers.
  • Data transferring between your web server, the visitor's browser and the KeyCAPTCHA server is protected by a digital signature.
  • 112 to 165 bit variable length password is used to generate a digital signature.
  • KeyCAPTCHA is a code executable in the visitor's browser. It is not a static image as used in typical CAPTCHAs.
  • Having received our CAPTCHA, it's virtually impossible to transfer it to third parties in order to run any task what spammers also do bypassing typical CAPTCHAs.
  • Probability of guessing the answer by submitting a random solution is 1 to 30,000,000.
  • KeyCAPTCHA-used images are transferred encryptedly.
Compatibility
KeyCAPTCHA supports two operating modes: Flash and HTML5. The KeyCAPTCHA HTML5 mode is used in most modern browsers, such as Mozilla FireFox, Google Chrome, Safari, and also used in iPhone and iPad. The Flash mode has been developed to be used in Internet Explorer and Opera. While loading, KeyCAPTCHA identifies its operating mode depending on the visitor's browser.

KeyCAPTCHA Affiliate Program
KeyCAPTCHA Affiliate Program allows publishers as well as any Internet user to collect incomes. For more information on The KeyCAPTCHA Affiliate Program, go to Our CAPTCHA Blog.

Installation
  1. Register on and log-in to our site (https://www.keycaptcha.com);
  2. Add your site URL to a Site list;
  3. Follow the CAPTCHA installation instructions in our Wizard.

If you use KeyCAPTCHA please click "Mark as Installed" in the right menu on this page.

Any pics?

JamesC70 12-05-2010 12:51 AM

There's a preview on www.keycaptcha.com.

However, no matter how many times I try, I can't get the hunters paired with their dogs correctly. If I can't do it, then a lot of my potential registrations can't do it. Therefore, I'll have to pass on this.

You have to click the button after you line them up to test if you got them right. I got it to work on the first try. It doesn't seem to work in Opera 11 beta, though. It keeps trying to load.

KeyCAPTCHA 12-05-2010 05:45 AM

Adobe Flash Plugin must be installed for the correctly work of KeyCAPTCHA in IE and Opera. At the same time Adobe Flash Plugin is not necessary for other browsers like Safari, Chrome, FF....

To increase usability of KeyCAPTCHA we have added a gray sample of right solution to all our tasks.

Boofo 12-05-2010 05:58 AM

Well, on Opera 11 beta, the little flash circle just keeps in going. I can view flash on other sites fine. Also, some of the colors for the matches aren't real distinct on some of them on some monitors. The dog one is fine but it doesn't always accept it as good when I do it right. Looks like this still needs some tweaking.

Boofo: I did click the button underneath. :)

KeyCaptcha: I think part of my problem with the hunters was that I read the instruction "place each hunter right to a dog" as simply "pair them", not "place the hunter behind the dog" as the revised Captcha shows.
Attachment 124195

However, other puzzles are not as strict. Here's two more that generated no errors:

Hi, JamesC70,
the KeyCAPTCHA service allows rough enough discrepancies of solution to facilitate passing a task.

We identify a visitor's browser as Opera by searching "Presto" in UserAgent. Maybe it's not correct for Opera version 11 beta...

Today we are going to fix this problem.

We have tested KeyCAPTCHA in Opera 11 beta (Windows XP and Windows 7)
And we didn't see any issues.

Could you please specify your operating system and the full version of your browser?

Hornstar 12-07-2010 04:54 AM

So how are you able to provide this for free? What is the catch?

There is no catch. We have two additional fee-based services - Personal KeyCAPTCHA and Extended Account.

Personal KeyCAPTCHA:
You are welcome to use our standard set of KeyCAPTCHAs offered by our service for free. However, if you are willing to make your site really unique one, you should use our additional service Personal KeyCAPTCHA. This service allows you to create your own captcha which will have an ideal match with the look&feel of your site. If your site is on e.g. fishing you’ll be able to create a CAPTCHA where visitors of your site are offered to place fishermen in a boat. More information about Personal KeyCAPTCHA you can find at https://www.keycaptcha.com/whatisit/?s=pc

Extended Account includes the following services:
  • "Filtering of Anonymous Proxies" is a unique service KeyCAPTCHA . It allows to block messages from visitors using anonymous proxy servers. The list of anonymous proxy servers is updated every hour and contains thousands of unique addresses spammers usually use to work. This service drastically enforces the anti-spam protection of your site even against manual (by human) spamming.

Hello Dear Members of vBulletin,

Doesn't anyone like KeyCAPTCHA?

It really stops spam-bots. Could you please try it in your forums and rate our Add-on?
We are open for your suggestions. And we do our job just for you.

Thanks in advance,

Hello Robert,
First of all thank you for your feedback.

1. Could you please specify the version of your Flash plugin too?
2. Do you have any additional plugins in your Opera? If so please specify them all.
3. You see KeyCAPTCHA in all other browsers, don't you?

We will test it with the same configuration tomorrow.

P.S. We have adjusted the colors in each CAPTCHA task.

Thanks in advance,

really difficult... captua..
i guess we need to hire cosultant to understand the new user, that how to use this captua... never mind..

but on other side it is great work to prevent the spamers as well as users too....

Tasking Mickey 12-24-2010 05:57 AM

Isn't one of the number 1 rules of web design that if you have to tell the user how to use your site, it's too complex? Whatever.

I, personally, really like vB's question functionality. I think I will have to pass too, though.

Shamil. 12-26-2010 06:04 PM

This is a lot more fun that normal CAPTCHAs

biggazillakilla 01-09-2011 11:31 PM

This is a great idea and has huge potential, but as it is, it's too complicated. I'm fairly certain that if you did a test of registration rates, some of the more complicated pairings (e.g., matching the horses to the carriages) would show a significant decrease in registrations.

It would also help a lot if the English were correct.

Hornstar 01-10-2011 04:19 AM

You might get more exposure on this if you release a VB4 version on vb.org and include stop spam in your title as many users will no doubt be looking for hacks on vb.org since reCaptcha has been cracked.

Kestryll 01-10-2011 04:58 PM

I just was getting ready to set this up on my forum until I noticed this part:
Quote:

3. Go to the "vBulletin Options" - "Human Verification Manager" page and switch radio-button to Disabled. Click "Save" button.
Does this mean I can not use this in conjunction with the built in vbulletin checks?

I want to use this but not if it means turning off all other forms of verification, I do not trust ANY of them alone, I want to use multiple methods.

Hi, biggazillakilla,
we are analyzing statistics from 800+ websites using our KeyCAPTCHAs. If we see that any our particular captcha exhibits an abnormal low rate of correct solutions or increased time in its passing, we remove it from the pool of captchas.

We are constantly working to simplify them. So, already after this thread start we:
  • released jigsaw puzzle-type KeyCAPTCHAs
  • added thumbnail of an image sample to be restored

Thanks, again, you for drawing our attention to this issue.

We missed it because we concentrated on the desi5257's number 1 rule of web design that captchas' tasks should have been clear without (reading) an explanation

Hi, Hornstar,
thanks for helping us.
We've changed the title of this post (increasing its anti-spam context) and plan to announce it in forums of VBulletin of other versions.

Meanwhile, please note that you can download and install KeyCAPTCHA plugin for VBulleting 4.x (as well as for 3.7-3.8.5 versions) directly from our site https://www.keycaptcha.com/?changelang=en . It is free but you should register to find instructions because they are specific per each of many different supported CMSs .

Thanks again for your help and interest,
KeyCAPTCHA Team

Hi, Nazia,
no need to hire anybody. Our KeyCAPTURE is free with free support.
Recently, we released a new type, (jigsaw) puzzle, that, as we believe, is much simpler. Everybody played it in childhood

One may try it online on our www.keycaptcha.com site

It is supposed to be intuitive and passable without any instructions

Hi. Thank You For Sharing this Interesting Mod.

The Add-on doesn't work on Internet Explorer 6.

It don't Display the Image Verification.

Many Persons in the World Still Use Internet Explorer 6 and Windows XP, is Important that the Add-on Works on them.

It'd also be Nice the Support of other Languages like Spanish.

It'd also is Important to have the Option NOT to Replace the Image CAPTCHA System but to Work Appart from it. It'd be Nice to have the Option to have BOTH Systems Working on the Boards.

My Best Regards.

:)

KeyCAPTCHA 01-13-2011 06:23 AM

thanks for your time, interest and feedback.

Internet Explorer and Opera, all versions, should have Shockwave Flash

KeyCAPTCHA requires "Shockwave Flash Object" plugin installed in all versions of Internet Explore and Opera.
In all other supported browsers and mobile devices KeyCAPTCHA uses HTML5

If Flash is disabled or not installed then a visitor will see on KeyCAPTCHA in a browser the text telling that it requires Adobe Flash 9.0.115 or higher to be installed.

We re-tested KeyCAPTCHA on IE6+Windows XP.

If this message is not shown then it is possible that a website visitor has, for example, Ad Blocker plugin for blocking Flash.

Hornstar, wow,
We seemed to initially miss this your third already helpful to us hint to understand why there are so many requests for having more than one protection (in earlier posts by inciarco and by Kestryll

After some googling we found that many articles on internet advise to install second protection as the (only?) way to stop the spam surge due recent reCAPTCHA (used by vBulletin forums) cracking on 4th of January 2011.

We should stress that reCAPTCHA cracking was quite obvious and expectable, due to may reasons, suffices to say that Google Inc., owning the reCAPTCHA, does not use it by its own services, for ex., Gmail registration, etc. Some obvious weaknesses of reCAPTCHA were already explained on internet before.

Though, KeyCAPTCHA is conceptually different service having multiple levels of novel mechanisms of protection and it was never cracked yet.

KeyCAPTCHA anti-spam service is unique in that it is platform specifically developed to overcome many drawbacks of other (previous) anti-spam services. For example, in contrast to other captchas, KeyCAPTCHA allows to easily and fast change the type of employed captcha without the need to re-install its plugin in protected webservers of our old customers, in case it is broken.

Does Keycaptha have a ToS ?

Maybe integrate this with spam-o-matic to provide multi-layered protection?

If you are developer of such spam-o-matic product wishing to integrate it with KeyCAPTCHA,
please fell free to use our KeyCAPTCHA.

Please note that yesterday we released and tested the new plugin that now works in any of the versions 3.7-4.x of vBulletin.
Before, there were seperate one for version 3.7-3.8.x of vBulleting and another for 4.x.

We have launched a new Email protectiion service which is not yet reflected on our website but is fully functional and tested:
You may publish your Email adresses publicly (in chats, forums, twitter, facebook, etc.) as a protected from web harvesters link.
We believe that it can be also used instead of Contact US form or,
by bloggers that do not have access to plugin installations.

As an example, you can try out now this link: corresponding to
  • faked@example.com

Hello, inciarco,
We have added server-side support (feed) in Spanish and in a dozen of other languages.

Since we have the same plug-in for all versions of vBulletin, please see a more detailed announcement in the "vBulletin 4.x Add-ons" forum

Thank You Very Much For the Spanish Feature.

I've Configured it on the KeyCaptcha Control Panel and Worked Ok on my Test Forum.

I Saw the Feature that Doesn't Change the Registration Form Page When the Person Fails the KeyCaptcha, and Offers a New Image Check, Looks Nice; Would be Important, If Possible to Include in the Mod, that in those Cases a Message Box Appears to Tell the User that the KeyCaptcha Image Check Failed and that a New Image Will be Displayed so that the Person Check the Image Again, (Like When You Don't Specify a Password).

I'll Start Trying KeyCaptcha in my Forums and I'll Tell You My Experiencies, (I Like a Lot the Puzzles Check).

My Best Regards.

:)

inciarco 02-28-2011 01:52 AM

-1. In the "class_humanverify_keycaptcha.php" File you Should Add the <fieldset class="fieldset"> and the </fieldset> in order for it to Display Ok (as the Other Options in the Registration Form).

Code:

                $tmpl = '<fieldset class="fieldset"><legend>##task##</legend><table style="padding:0; spacing:0; border:none;"><tr style="padding:0; spacing:0; border:none;">'.
                        '<td><input type=hidden value="1" id="humanverify" name="humanverify" /><input type=hidden value="1" id="hash" name="hash" />##keycaptchacode##'.
'<noscript>Debes Activar JavaScript en Tu Navegador. Despues de Ello Recarga la Pagina.'.
                        'De Otra Manera No Podras Publicar Informacion en Este Sitio.</noscript></td></tr></table></fieldset>';

-2. I'd be Nice that the Mod Displays the Message Window/Box When the Puzzle Isn't Well Resolved, as when the Password Isn't Well Writen or Is Different in Both Text Boxes. ;)

-3. I Also Noticed that the Plugin Says "Please install Adobe Flash plugin (version 9.0.115 or above) into Your browser, please go to this link for install Adobe Flash plugin" in English When the User don't Have "Adobe Flash" Installed in the Computer; It'd be Nice to Display that Message in Spanish or in the Languages the KepCaptcha Users have Specified in their Account, (in my Case Spanish).

The Phrase would be something Like this in Spanish:

Quote:

"Por Favor instale el Plugin Adobe Flash (version 9.0.115 o m?s reciente) en su navegador, por favor acceda a este enlace para instalar el plugin de Adobe Flash"
I'll Keep Testing On My Forums.

My Best Regards.

:)

Unfortunately, the plugin import did not work.

Perhaps it may have to do with my iMac. I will send you a ticket momentarily.

Thanx.

Debbie - MB and inciarco,
we passed to communicate on technicalities through PM, our ticket support system, Email and other channels.

Everybody, please, for any technical question or issue submit support ticket on our site from under logged in user since we are physically unable to duplicate and/or disperse technical support with thousands of our customers in a dozen CMSs (each in a few versions) in a dozen of languages over to discussion boards

Meanwhile you are still welcome to provide feedback that does not require ongoing communication, tracking and information on details of specific installation and configuration environments.

Morrus 04-03-2011 06:32 PM

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but spam on our forum and increased tenfold since installing KeyCAPTCHA. If anything, it seems less secure than the reCAPTCHA or the Q&A methods (both of which are far from perfect, but seem to reduce spam more than KeyCAPTCHA does). I've been deleting spam posts and banning spammers all day for a couple of days now - hundreds of them - since installing this.
