What version of vbulletin? And what version of php?
You say New Install... so no mods, all totally default files? Try redownloading the files and then reupload a totally default set with the only file you ever touch being the config.php file using a plain text editor. |
hi lynne i tried VB verison 3-7-0 new host new forum only touched the config.php file
oh sorry this was the 3rd attempt at clean download and upload each time i get same proble |
New host? Like I asked, what version of php? I'll bet your version of vbulletin isn't compatible with the version of php you are using.

PHP Version 5.2.14 that the problem? |
That should be fine with 3.7.3.
As I asked before - this is a totally default new install? Not some upgrade or install with an old database or old files at all? Those look like the same errors I had in a ticket this morning where the person upgraded to php 5.3 and was still using version 3.8.3. |
yep brand new host , new database, never had one on this ever before, fresh download of VB and fresh install.
no updates, upgrades, or anything |
Put a file in your root directory named phpinfo.php that has only these contents:
PHP Code:
|
{\rtf1\ansi\ansicpg1252\deff0\deflang2057{\fonttbl {\f0\fswiss\fcharset0 Courier New;}{\f1\froman\fcharset0 Times New Roman;}{\f2\fswiss\fcharset0 Arial;}}
{\*\generator Msftedit 5.41.15.1515;}\viewkind4\uc1\pard\sb100\sa100\f0\f s20 <?\line phpinfo();\line ?> \f1\fs24\par \pard\f2\fs20\par } |
Um.... you need to edit/create php files using a text editor, nothing fancier, or you will get garbage in your code.

scraped the lot trying a new install again will install file after
