What are good mods for sending out newsletters including recent threads?
Hey all,
I'm looking for a mod that will send out an e-mail to all my members and include in it recent threads. I checked out ProVb's "Community Newsletter" http://www.provb.org/vb_products.php...fo&productid=8, however I don't know if it is compatible with vB 4.x I checked out Micro Newsletter https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=250597, however I don't know if this sends out recent threads. Any other good newsletter send outs that will enable me to send recent threads? Thanks |
+1 anyone to help out?

I'm also interested in finding an answer to this question. Anyone?

I've been reading and so far, I've not found any newletters for vb 4.2..

Great suggestion, excepting I believe that mod (micronewsletter) is now in the Graveyard.
|
the one at provb is badly supported (i know i bought it and had trouble getting any response from there (check the forum for the product), so i bought the micronewsletter which does tons more with a wysiwig editor...etc.
@Prosportsforums check out this thread https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...48#post2386448 i've given the name of someone who is probably the owner of the rights of the mod now. |
By seeing a mod in Graveyeard doesn't means that the mod is dead. Most probably the coder has no time to support it here. Newsletter (for Cummunity activities) and eMarketing (a normal mailinglist manager) are alive at my site.

I bought Christeris newsletter and it doesn't work and he doesn't give support. I didn't try ProVB but read some bad things. We need someone to code a reliable community newsletter for us.

PS: how a newsletter really look like, do you have a demo? |

Also don't forget to complete your sentence: "I bought Christeris newsletter and it doesn't work and he doesn't give support, but it's true that he issued a full refund, without even asking for it, when I said that is not works for me". Last thing. There are more than 100 happy clients using my Newsletter. Nobody complained for everything. And a proof for it, is that even if you've post this complain in so many threads here, NOBODY supported your post. Chris PS: After your continous blaming on me, I'm getting back the offer that I gave you by allowing you to continue using the Newsletter in your site. Finally it's something that does not works for you, right? |
Is every thread that ever mentions a newsletter going to turn into one of these? Because I, for one, am sick of the back and forth. State your favorite newsletter and why. Then move on.

It's always the same players...but if you don't mind using vBulletin's mailqueue system. I would recommend this one vBMail Tip: Use your imagination and use tables. :D |

Active Campaign does not pull threads from the forums and create the newsletter content that way for you. You have to make the content yourself. --------------- Added [DATE]1359589393[/DATE] at [TIME]1359589393[/TIME] --------------- Quote:

@Nelson58
I have given my recommendation and I am aware you have been looking for something for a long time. I know it's a pain when your looking for something good. I didn't comment before because I knew where the discussion would lead. To Answer your question: vBMail will not currently produce the content from the forum but you could copy it or link it. My second new recommendation is add Value to your Newsletter not just generate forum content that the users could visit the forum to receive. It isn't news if it has already happened. Again add Value. My recommendation of vBMail is the best Value I can give right now. :D |
Running,
What is needed is a newsletter that: 1- draws recent, popular, and sticky threads from the forum. 2- allows members to subscribe/unsubscribe from the General Settings area of their profile (via a checkbox). Also allows them to select an HTML or text version from a second checkbox. Commbull used to do this, but is no longer a supported add-on. 3- provide a header and footer from the site so the site look is maintained. 4- allows you to customize the newsletter with a monthly message. 5- allow you to schedule the date and time of the delivery of the newsletter. |
Im using this one in my 4.2.5 forum. It works well and sends out a letter once a month and it automatically decided what to send in each members letter based on what the members havent viewed since the last newsletter. https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...ght=Newsletter

I use Threadloom. Works perfectly.
