Mid Post Advertisements (middle of the post)

1 Attachment(s)
Hello
i decided to share this mod with everybody else , this is a paid hack , i received several PMs asking to share it with everybody else , so i did :D all credits goes to original author SecondV :)
VBulletin 4.x users click here
1
What does this hack do ??

This mod simply lets you put your desired ads or any other codes just in the middle of first post , in each page of a thread .
you can see a live demo here

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/attachmen...0&d=1286464741
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/attachmen...1&d=1288041638
1
Known Issues :
 • [s]you shouldn't edit your first post , that causes real problems , and you lose all the contents of first post.[/s] (this is solved in version 1.1)
 • sometimes it's not exactly in the middle of posts , that's because in logic sometimes there is no real half point , while some posts have even number of lines and some posts have odd number of lines . but it tries to put it to the nearest location to the mid point! :)
1
Try not to mention following things :
if you think it's against google TOS then don't install it ;) but keep in mind you can also use it with other network ads , and keep in mind at no point google directly mentioned it's against their TOS to put adsense in between content , so do not insist :D
1
Installation :
Just Import the Prodcut and configure settings in admincp ( no template edits needed )
DONE :)
1
Updates
version 1.1 : first post editing bug FIXED
version 1.2 : option ADDED to hide copyright AND adsense input field integrated into mod's settings page
version 1.3 : option ADDED to limit ads to be visible to guests only as requested by jrwap
version 1.4 : The ads get applied to article comments as well on the CMS articles bug FIXED
version 1.5 : option ADDED to disable ads in certain forums ( as requested by wastemytime )
version 1.6 : unicode characters bug FIXED
version 1.7 : option for enabling ads in extra post ADDED ( as requested by barcena )
version 1.8 : PHP5 issue
version 1.9 : first post image only (no text) bug FIXED
1
Enjoy and please please try not to forget to click as Installed if you liked it you can also Nominate it for MOTM , that's optional but clicking as installed is a must :)

This doesn't seem to be setup in the live demo?

YankForum 10-17-2010 07:37 PM

it's being setup on live demo as u see it inserts ads in between contents of first post

azn_romeo_4u 10-18-2010 03:15 PM

The way you blend it, it's against the TOS. If you get banned, don't be suprise people. The above example is too blended with the text, and doesn't differentiate between the ad and the content.

You can simply adjust this, but Floating the ad in a div tag. Obviously 728x90 won't look good, but 300x250 should.

Link to where it declares this against TOS please.

YankForum 10-19-2010 11:41 PM

google didn't say it's not against TOS or it's against TOS
it's your responsibility to obey their TOS otherwise you lose your account
google advises to blend ads to match content to increase revenue
but if you make ads recognizable from other contents of page then you won't need to worry , you can achieve this by adding a border to the ads or by any other ways

caciocode 10-19-2010 11:44 PM

Isn't this already available?

EDIT: I have just realised this is for the older version.

gsmlover4u 10-20-2010 08:47 AM

tottal confused  some said against google TOS some said not against google TOS

Hornstar 10-20-2010 09:30 AM

I think that is pretty cool. I'd love to see how much of an increase this brings...

Best to read the TOS and decide for yourself. Don't trust other people with things you can confirm yourself.

So is anyone seeing an increase in earnings from this mod?

jmw 10-25-2010 12:33 AM

Uninstalled. I knew this hack was too good to be true. This thing doesn't put adsense in the middle of post but in the middle of post box it appears. LOL. If your posts have 10 lines, this hack will put adsense ads at the bottom of the post, which can be already accomplished by using your "ad_showthread_firstpost_sig" in Vbulletin.

YankForum 10-25-2010 12:44 AM

this counts </br> tags and put ads after the middle one , you really need to stop using alcohol for a while dude!

barcena 10-25-2010 06:39 PM

Is there a sort of conditional so that I can use this mod inside another post (third, last) and not inside the first?.

I don't want to use another Mod, I love this one, except that I need it on the last post or the 10th, lets say, not on the very first.

Thanks.

barcena 10-25-2010 06:43 PM

Sorry YankForum, I am with 4.0, I know I can use it bc I had use it in the recent past on my 4.0 vb, but Id post this on the wrong forum.

The question remains the same though. :)

YankForum 10-25-2010 06:52 PM

no problemo! i'll add an option for enabling ads in other posts as well as first post
please don't forget to click on installed in vb4 version if you are using it

barcena 10-25-2010 07:45 PM

Thank you sooooo much !!!!.
Will you release it here or in 4.0?
I'll patiently wait. ;)

YankForum 10-25-2010 08:45 PM

Mod updated as requested by barcena (version 1.7 : option for enabling ads in extra post ADDED) .
please click installed if you install it!

barcena 10-25-2010 08:50 PM

Thank you sooo much Yank. I can use it on 4.0 right?.

barcena 10-25-2010 09:11 PM

Hi Yank, just a quick thing, even though I know the mod is called Ads in the middle of first post, what about if I can't/don't want to place ads on the very first post due to be too close to another Ad system.... Will it be possible just to chose inside what post do I wanted as the mod you just did but with the option of NOT showing ads on the very first post? Right now you gave us the option to show ads on another post but the first one is by default, no way to disable that.

That will make your mod MOTM. LOL. :)

Hope I'm not asking for too much and is working well on 4.0, I had your mod placed for a couple of weeks on the first post and the ctr went to the roof.

PS. What Google slot do you think is more convenient to be placed inside a post? I have a 468x60.

YankForum 10-25-2010 11:03 PM

maybe i'll add this feature too , but i dont promise because I'm a little busy during these weeks and i think many threads only have 1 post , and in that case no ads will be shown and no revenue if first post ads will be disabled , but i'll try to implement this feature too asap , Tnx for ur ideas and comments :)

realmr 10-26-2010 11:26 AM

can we have these ads based on usergroup restrictions ? Currently our ads are usergroup restricted.

YankForum 10-26-2010 03:42 PM

yes you can only hide/show to guests only or to all

abumohamed 11-13-2010 02:13 AM

Thank you sooo much

len backus 01-22-2011 01:25 PM

Where do I insert the Adsense code?

Dominic K 01-22-2011 05:18 PM

Make your own decision but I have had my domain blacklisted for similar placement.

This violates Google's ToS - 100%.

len backus 01-22-2011 06:13 PM

Dominick

Thanks. Did you get a message from google that was specific

YankForum 06-14-2012 01:25 PM

a minor bug fix update (related to empty first posts)
just overwrite the file with your existing one

chikkoo 02-09-2015 09:47 AM

Nice Mod, very useful to me.

I am not using for AdSense. I am adding forum copyright message.

How can I add the username in this? Such as "Hi $username, This is a copyrighted content, please don't copy contents from here."

Some experts please guide me, how to add the username.
