can anyone please help me...

i have a website which i did for my wife, called thepoetrymansion.com

due to recent illness it has been missing of the internet for a while...

i have been in contact with a company called knownhost, who i presume i use as a place to have the site, and they have been brought and paid up to date.... but now all i see when i go to the site is some poxy shoe website....

can anyone tell me what i gotta do, as i am no good at this stuff and havent a butchers what im doing

well your webpage has been replaced it sounds like, so unless you had backups its probibly gone.

but websites are a dime a dozen and can be made in minutes now days. but why r u here in vb forums gets me.
if your not running vb how in the world did you find this place?.
anyway just make a new website, there must be some ad being used as webpage on the server your hosting on.

ok i went and looked and there is a site on that domain so u may have lost your domain name .

might wanna check that out

the website was built using this place, thats how i knew of it..... knownhost told me they had a back-up of the site, and were able to replace it, but all i got is this shoe place.... VB is the software used for the site, if that makes sense asd it dont to me really

yes... its all my wifes details as i set the site up for her poetry

do you have the ftp info and vb ownwership accounts and such

im wondering in my limited knowledge, if i am meant to pay something here or at vb.com which may also help in getting the site back.. does this seem possible?

if you can goto the cpanel you should be able to see whats going on

well it may need to be upgraded to a new version but no, the site has been replaced by anouther site, so whoever did that knows what they did

i cant do anything on that site which is showing up, but its defo not mine....

i have just managed to log into the VB.com customer page and i think it says licence expired... now im really confused

well you should have an account at the hosting site that were you can get into cpanel

http://knownhost.com/ go there and find out whos useing your account i guess. get your account passwords for using that site, that what you need to goto to get anything done

it says inactive/expired... would anyone please be prepared to look at this page for me to see what i gotta do

they probibly have a ads page showing where yours should be, sometimes they do that to force you to pay, just ask them to take thier page dwon and so your shows again.

well if you paid the fees it should be reinstated, and they should be able to reset your passwords and stuff, so you have to get control of that account first before anything can be done

i have managed to log into knownhost, and can see account details for the website which should be showing up.... not sure what else im looking at lol

OK their will be an administrative side go into that and look for cpanel, but they may be able to disable that ad page if you ask them , then yours would just start showing

hi,

the correct website is finally showing thankfully....

all i need now is someone to come to the rescue, and explain the steps needed to get the site back up to date.... i have been told that this site is so old it still runs via a gerbil in a wheel.
