Style for better vb4 readability.

- increased fonts
- fixed font families
- increased text contrast
- some fixes via CSS (see comments in template)

Dev version here: http://github.com/rcdesign/vb-styles...r/readability/

nice and simple

lubbie 10-02-2010 10:52 AM

yipp. nice one.

apokphp 10-02-2010 06:37 PM

It looks like it's just a font change. Is that the only difference between this and the default style?

Vitaly 10-02-2010 11:40 PM

?????????? Screenshots are attached. There are not only font changes. It's evident. You'd could install this style to compare or inspect XML file in text editor.

Don't work in my 4.0.7 - do not see where to select it? It is not in the style choice?

Vitaly 10-03-2010 02:17 AM

It's in style choice.

- make shure, that you've installed is as style, not as product
- make shure, that checkbox "can be selected" is checked

That's all.

Vitaly 10-03-2010 02:26 AM

I've updated screenshots to not scaled images.

Krusty1231 10-03-2010 08:05 PM

My bad....dunno why it never worked the first time....working now just fine - Thank you.

Don't mind. Select option to ignore vb version during style import.

Hi Vitaly,

I'm using this as my default skin, and noticed one small error that is not on any of my other skins.

Can you help?

Screen attached.

I have an over lap issue with the thank you for this post.

Vitaly 10-07-2010 08:02 PM

vb4 don't have such elements. I'm not responsible for third-party mods. Ask mod author.

OK - thanks I will do that - but as you can see in the other 6 skins - all of them show correctly - just wondering. No biggie.

Thanks for the tip.

Vitaly 10-08-2010 09:51 AM

you can edit "additionsl.css" template, and remove this code:

Code:

/* Move up post buttons */

.postbit .postbody, .postbitlegacy .postbody, .eventbit .eventbody {
  padding-bottom: 20px !important;
}
.postbit .postfoot, .postbitlegacy .postfoot, .eventbit .eventfoot {
  margin-top: -30px !important;
}

But postbit will have another look, and you should fix it each time you install new version of this skin.
You'd better contact mod author to report styles missuse. Other skins don't move post buttons. So you didn't noticed the problem.

Thank you again. I will give it a go. Your skin is a bigger hit with my older members who like the bigger font - and it is much easier to read for them judging on the feedback for your skin. I ended up making it the default because it is a very nice improvement over my previous default skin.

Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions Vitaly.

Much appreciated.

Got the same problem with old members. They've f**ked my brain until i did this skin :)

Probably, icons can be improved too, but i'm not designer to do & support those.
