Minimum Number Of Posts And Threads Per Day To Enter Certain Forums
 

This is an adjustemtnt of my other mod that I did for a client of mine, Limit Number of Posts&Threads in Forums Within a Time Frame but now it allows the admins to set a number of posts and threads that a user can make within a time frame to enter certain forums.

The client for whom I adjusted the mod, had a downloads forum and he wanted to give access only to the active users. But to those who posted regulary. Say, 5 posts in others area of the forum to get access to the downloads forum. Then the next day the same thing again. Who makes the number of posts set by the admin can enter those forums that the admin wants to limit to the active users.

Anyway, after installing the hack, go to Settings-Options->Maximum Posts & Threads Per Days To Enter Forums

There you can enable and disable the hack. You can also enter the minimum number of day/s time frame as well as the maximum number of posts and/or threads that a user muct post for that time in order to enter certain forums. By default it is set to 1 day limit. You can also choose the forums where to enforce the maximum posting limit and which User Groups and/or Individual users and/or forums will be excluded from the limit.

this is a wonderful hack...I was thinking of setting up a forum on my site named "hall of fame" kind of thing...this hack can adjust who will be eligible to enter that section..

Just installed this and if a member clicks on the last thread on the right hand side of the forum rather than the forum title it lets them by pass the hack!

I'm confused. Shouldn't the mod title say "Minimum posts and threads per day to enter forums." This hack is setting a minimum activity to enter other forums, not an upper limit, right?

I guess that title would be more accurate. Just changed it :)

Did the change also include modifying the xml file?

No, only the title of the mod at the thread. I don''t think that modifying the xml file would be necessary.

there are some forum that i dont set post count, however, whenever member post in those forum, this mod still count it. How can I prevent those members ?
