first of all ,
i think it is the time to integrate between vbulletin & phpnuke
,
we know there is something called vbportal
but

php nuke is the master of all portals
and we a lot of sites depend on this kind of scripts

i wrote message to FB for begining in integrate between phpnuke and vbulletin
http://www.phpnuke.org/article.php?sid=2151
we get some questions :

is the integration will be in the unprivacy status for vb roles!!?
and
another question
why some programers dose not give this idea some trying?

i use phpnuke and phpbb and there is integration between them occur and they are now in the beta version!!

i do not like vbportal and please do not talk about here !!

i just ask to integrate between vbulletin with the great phpnuke

just to get the same users in the phpnuke and vbulletin

phpnuke has large numbers of addons and modules

vbulletin now is in the top

and it is the time to begin integrate between them

any comment!!

well I don't know much about vbportal, it seems a bit iffy to me, I mean, who wants to use the power of vbulletin's user setup over phpnukes? plus whats this no themes for phpnuke stuff? sheesh, who wants to customize there site using templates when we can write theme files? I agree man, someone should get on top of this!

hey why don't we write it ourselfs? yeah, lets not ask for somthing, but do it ourselfs, plus we can work the topics into the vbulletin search, and add a better admin panel to phpnuke, and work tons of addons into it.

wait, isnt there a script out there like that? oh well.

snyx

So I've heard about this vbPortal thing...is it any good? ;)

Personally...I've had my fill with Nuke, if and when I do use it from this point out...I'll be using PostNuke or vbPortal!

today
FB wrote that he well release phpnuke version 5.1 with extra features and some bugs fixed
and this is the article:
http://www.phpnuke.org/article.php?s...rder=0&thold=0

phpnuke has a lot of wonderful features and we wanna make some integration between it and vb

as we know phpbb ahs been integrated with nukeaddon and be part of it that is mazing
but we hope to do the same with vbulletin
someone will say vbportal!!
it is bad !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

we ask just to add vbulletin with phpnuke without any change in the phpnuke
,,,,i mean just to use the same users
i suggest to use the same table users in db

any comments!!

BradC 08-13-2001 01:01 AM

Sorry if we.. came off as butts.. hehe

ummm yah there is yet another addition to vbportal. called Nuke2VB if you did a search on these here forums you would see that the intergration of phpnuke and vb.. was started a long time ago. Wajones has pulled that back off the shelf and is working on another version.. that is probably more of what you want. It uses phpnuke.. and adds the intergration of vb.. instead of taking a lot of nukes abilities and making it work soley with vb. Go to phpportals.com and check out the lastest news thread about it.

Also.. if none of these things are what you want, I guess I am sorry to say... that you can do this yourself, or pay someone to do it. Have Fun.

There is no way that anyone would/should trash vbulletin for the sake of PHP-Nuke. There is no feasable way to stick vbulletin into it without altering PHPNuke period. Just stick with the free ware bbs systems, because if you altered vbulletin for Nuke that would be the quality you would end up with.

I am getting a bit confused...I also want to have the same members for vBulletin as well as the look of phpnuke or at least a portal look..

I guess from my understand ..

vbportal : use vBulletin as the main backend and modify add-on for it to be able to post news, and other portal stuffs..

while nuke2vb : use phpnuke and intergrate it with vB

please correct me if I am wrong....

Currently both phpbb 1.4.2,vbulletin 2.0.3 ,phpweblog 0.52,as well as phpnuke 5.0

I had 2 design for my site

Design 1 : vbulletin and phpweblog (not really intergrated)

Design 2 : phpnuke and phpbb (not intergrated)
