Number of Days Registered to Post Links.
 

With this hack you will be able to make so that users can post links at your forum after they have been registered members for a certain period of time set by you. By default it is set to 1 week.

After installing the hack, go to Settings-Options->Number of Days Registered to Post Links.

There you can enable and disable the hack. You can also enter the minimum number of days a user must be a register member in order to post links. You can also choose which User Groups and/or Individual users and/or forums will be excluded from the number of days register limit.

Excellent idea... Was hoping for something like this for a while. Will stop spammers link before I can catch them....

i have a question here..

is it possible to make this plugin only prevent Link BBCode ? and user absolutely can post a link that wrapped in IMG & Video BBCODE

i noticed that it prevents any link in any bbcode (Link, Image, Video)

it should be something like this :

Number of Days Registered to Post BBCode (and we have an option to select which BBcode can be used altogether within this plugin)

Since it was marked "re-usable code" I modified the mod to only block links to URL's, images and videos will still be allowed.

Install as normal, allow overwrite to YES, it will overwrite the existing mod. I didn't make any other changes.

doesnt work in 3.8.x can anyone port it? guests and new members can still post links in 3.8.x

It seems to work fine in 3.8 for me, I had to change the "minimum version" in the xml file from 4.0.0 to 3.5.0.

I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work with 3.x, my guess is the author had no way to test it and better safe than sorry.

The attached xml file is identical to the original but will allow installs in 3.x.

Hopefully borbole can update his original file in the next release. :up:

I had no issues installing it, I did same thing you have done with xml file, however once installed my guests can still post links even after installation of the mod.

Hmm.. it blocked me... but I didn't try as a guest since I don't let guests post at all.

Instead on 4.0.2, working great.

This works well and cuts down on spam but any way to add it to links in signatures? Spammers are getting around it that way.

Excellent mod, using on 4.1.11, seems to work fine. Combined with another mod, I'm able to restrict people from posting links with less than 10 total posts and 24 hours of registration. I'm sure my mods will be very happy.
