[DBTech] vBCredits II Deluxe

1 Attachment(s)
Darkwaltz4 & DragonByte Technologies are proud to present the much anticipated and long awaited [DBTech] vBCredits II Deluxe

Why [DBTech] vBCredits II Deluxe?

vBCredits II Deluxe is the evolution of the points hack that thousands of vBulletin owners have only been dreaming of. Completely rewritten to incorporate three years of requests and improvements, vBCredits II Deluxe is the pinnacle of simplicity and power for casual activity and serious ecommerce engines alike!

vBCredits II Deluxe is the most advanced and feature rich points system ever created. It is the only points system produced by the creator and coder of vBCredits v1-1.4 ? accept no substitutes from impostors.

Why vBCredits II Deluxe is an evolution of the typical points hack of the last decade

The typical points hack installs a standard column to your user table. You are stuck with it, but if you are lucky you can make it switch entirely to a different one.

While vBC2D installs a standard currency, you are free to remove it, and quickly integrate many third party currencies without any technical knowledge. The whole thing is made to be working with multiple currencies especially when they need to work together and the third parties didn't put in a way for that.

The typical points hack installs a couple actions with hardly any way to disable, modify, or add on to them. How they work is different every time.

vBC2D is built around a modular display and action system so actions come in standard formats with standard attributes. They are easy to break off or install more without bothering the main hack for updates. The standardization allows for global features to be available without the need for repeated coding, as well as exposing an API for third parties - all encouraging widespread support. It also means that no matter who made your third party actionset, the settings will automatically be consistent and support all features.

The typical points hack will just blindly add points to user accounts, leaving abuse wide open.

vBC2D records every single transaction and comes with many powerful anti fraud techniques to prevent abuse and limit their effectiveness. Not only are there several ways to qualify user actions, but also ways of obfuscating the system so it is difficult for users to come up with ways to game the system.

The typical points hack is only for earning.

vBC2D supports charging as well as earning for all actions, making the need for a companion shop optional.

The typical points hack is a cryptic mess of settings and math.

vBC2D has been organized in a linear fashion where all related items are in exactly one place. All options are fully explained and you are only ever shown what is relevant. Even advanced and uncommon settings will not be in your way - unless you specifically want to use them. The system holds your hand and it is easy to see exactly what your settings have done and quickly revert them if needed.

The typical points hack gets bloated once you've set up many options.

vBC2D was written in a way to be scalable yet maintain all of its features. A careful watch over database and code was kept to ensure the least amount of impact at all times. So far three big boards have used vBC2D for several months and reported no change in their performance.

The typical points hack is just the same old thing every few months.

vBCredits 1 was the typical points hack, and I had three years of customer support and requests to know what works and what didn't, and what everyone had wished points hacks would do but it just wasn't happening. Finally, vBC2D was written from the ground up and every single request was included in a unified, ultimate package.

I noticed it says:
vBulletin 4 Actionset:
Is this the same for VB3 too or is anything different?

also is there an importer from vbux to vbcredits yet?

Kolektor 07-06-2010 02:00 AM

Dark, the mods i have using with vBcredits like iparcade, vbookie will still work with this brand new one?

Kolektor 07-06-2010 02:19 AM

Ok. testing feedback

I am getting this error from this area: admincp/index.php?loc=credits_admin.php%3Fdo%3Dactions

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in [path]/admincp/credits_admin.php on line 1114

whoops, yep i copied it from the vb4 thread :p all of those should work the same on vb3.8 now, but changed it nonetheless. Bonus - when/if you upgrade to vb4, you dont need to upgrade to the vb4 flavor of vbcredits II :p

Yes, as long as you keep the default credits currency. Actionsets that integrate with the old vbc1 addons are on their way :)

How many times is it displaying? If you edit and save each display, the errors should go away. I thought I had that taken care of :p

Sayid 07-06-2010 09:37 AM

Can you please state what feature will I lose and what one will I gain when upgrading to vbcII lite from vbc v1.4 ?

Darkwaltz4 07-07-2010 03:36 AM

You gain many new actions, more ways to use them (like multipliers and limits), multiple currencies, and everything in that mini faq at the top of the description. You lose bank interest and lottery, which has been removed for addon status in the future.

Yes it was shown 5 times. Edit and saving it have removed it. :)

Deimos 07-11-2010 09:28 PM

Doesn't the "Deluxe" version of a product, usually mean more features, rather than less? hehe.

The lottery/bank was the main reason I installed VBCredits, so it's a little odd to see it removed.

And by addons, do you mean paid addons?

DragonByte Tech 07-11-2010 11:37 PM

=) The Deluxe version is much more feature filled than the standard vBCredits II.

There are no plans to make any addons "paid" addons - though thats not set in stone, i'd be very surprised if it was the case =). Likely those features will be added in future updates (though perhaps not to the Lite version)

I'm on 3.8.4 and I'm getting this error after what appears to be a smooth installation:

Invalid SQL:
SELECT SUM(ABS(credits_saved)) AS sum FROM vbuser;

MySQL Error : Unknown column 'credits_saved' in 'field list'
Error Number : 1054

Darkwaltz4 07-20-2010 03:27 PM

What page do you get that on? That query does not look familiar...

chickadee 07-22-2010 07:46 PM

Every page I try and click on gives me this error now.

SocialNetworkBuzz 07-25-2010 04:17 AM

Hi John, Does this support living avatars, vbArmy, ibarcade and vBbookie?

Darkwaltz4 07-26-2010 02:29 PM

On vB3.8 all addons for vBCredits 1.x should still work so long as the default currency (credits) remains.

----------------

Thanks to everyone's great feedback and encouragement, we are proud to release vBCredits II Deluxe v1.1.0!

Highlights:
Improved currency popup with username suggest
Faster donations with additional messages
One-way fees chargeable on currency events
(pro) All events support email or PM alerts
See all, your own, or someone else's transactions
Ability to process all transactions in realtime
Over 15 more fixes, improvements, and optimizations!

Coming up in the next version: purchasing credits with PayPal+(pro), and redemption codes!
In the interim we will be focusing on integrations with many other addons, now that everyone will be happy with the core.

markber 07-29-2010 06:25 PM

If I already have an old 1.4 version of vbCredits installed, would I be able to upgrade to [DBTech] vBCredits II Deluxe without losing information about member credits?

[DBTech] vBCredits II Deluxe and vbCredits 1.4. use the same column in the "user" MySQL table.

Thanks.

Darkwaltz4 07-29-2010 08:06 PM

It will upgrade the currencies and amounts people had, but not your settings (those have changed radically and need to be reentered). It will also upgrade from any lingering vbcII betas just fine (with your settings too)

.

Thank you for your reply, Darkwaltz4!

May I ask you to elaborate a bit more about what you meant when you said "It will upgrade the currencies and amounts people had"? More specifically, does "upgrade" mean "preserve" in this case or does it mean a recalculation based on the default settings of vBCredits II?

I just would like to be 100% positive that the existing member credits will be intact after upgrading vBCredits 1.4 to vBCredits II.

Thanks for your help!

Darkwaltz4 07-30-2010 03:29 PM

It does not recalculate any totals, they are preserved as what they were, and will be the starting point users have once you set up your new events in vBCredits II Deluxe.

vBookie Actionset now available free here: http://www.dragonbyte-tech.com/threa...tionset?p=7001

markber 07-30-2010 04:44 PM

Thanks for your explanations, Darkwaltz4!

Thanks :D

I need a German-Translation. :D

ctimes 08-19-2010 06:07 PM

Can we run this to update credits using the current post count etc so everyone does not start from 0?

I am busy lite-ifying the new 1.2.0 version which contains all of the public phrases and a bunch more admin ones, so you can begin translating as soon as you get the automatic update from here :)

Yes, go to the User Manager in vBCredits, find the users you want to update, and click show advanced options. There are the controls for recalculation - if you are unsure what to do there let me know.

Nephalim 08-22-2010 04:21 AM

why does this full version costs $30+ and the other vb credits2 full version is free?

Darkwaltz4 08-22-2010 05:01 AM

The "other" version is actually just my ancient vBCredits 1.4 version which PixelFX has taken and literally just given a new version number in an attempt to appear updated and to discredit me - no new code whatsoever (file compare the two if you don't believe me).

This vBCredits II is an entirely newly rewritten product, and this should be readily apparent from the screenshots (and definitely while using it). As such, it has a few features which I am selling as a pro version, marked in red in the first post. See my site via my sig for more details.

snowlion 08-25-2010 06:38 PM

To be honest. This is a great mod but I don't understand any action in it :D.
In example: I want to give my user 60K credits on the occasion of my forum's anniversary. I have 5000+ members, so what i have to do now?
How do I use the Mass Credit Updater to add 60000 credits to 5000+ member at one?

Darkwaltz4 09-30-2010 03:21 PM

Detailed instructions on using the mass credit updater were posted here: http://www.dragonbyte-tech.com/threa...lating-Credits

Chase 10-18-2010 02:34 PM

If I'm upgrading from vbcredits 1.4 do I need to uninstall this one first (along with template changes?)

Darkwaltz4 10-20-2010 05:50 PM

You do not need to uninstall, although the template changes should be reverted (vbc2d injects stuff into your templates without edits). The amounts everyone has will be kept, but the settings will need to be redone as the format has changed drastically (for the better of course)

koby411 10-28-2010 12:26 AM

I have a problem with this..

When you click the link to view in individual post I get this error:

PHP Code:

WarningMissing argument 1 for VBCREDITS_VBULLETIN::thread(), called in [path]/showpost.php(122) : eval()'d code on line 1 and defined in [path]/dbtech/credits/credits_vbulletin.php on line 432

Link: http://forums.kametsu.com/showpost.p...00&postcount=1

Darkwaltz4 10-28-2010 04:13 PM

edit the vBCredits II - View Thread plugin on the showpost_start hook (theres a second one with the same title, different hook), and replace the php code with:

PHP Code:

VBCREDITS_VBULLETIN::read();

koby411 10-28-2010 04:49 PM

That worked thanks!

squall leonhart 11-11-2010 02:37 PM

I have a trouble. I set up a new event for Infraction and charge 10 credits for who get Infraction but when I test, the user who get infraction isn't charged.

============
It works now but take a long time to auto update

That's because transactions are not done in REAL TIME. You can enable if you want to.. but it will probably cause higher server loads.

rob01 11-13-2010 04:52 PM

whats the diference with the other :S

the pro addons work with this vbcredits??

A more streamlined experience with three years worth of requests built in, such as increased security controls, full logs, ability to charge for actions built in, multiple currencies, many more actions, modular design with third party api access, etc.

The pro addons should continue to work with this as long as you keep the original Credits currency. They are in the process of being assimilated into upcoming pro versions of II.

Black Tiger 11-16-2010 05:41 PM

I would like to install this, but I have my doubts about several things. So I only tagged it for the moment.

Quote:

I don't believe you because the 2.1.0 version is different, also in size and give's an error notice when installing.:)
Why would Pixelfx want to discredit you? I don't see him pointing to you anywhere.

I had a problem with the bank (users suddenly lost all their money in the bank), which you told me would be automatically fixed with the new version when you still was on vbcredits. Did you mean this version? I doubt it because there isn't a bank in this one anymore.

And if I understand correctly, my users will lose everything they have on the bank, so they have to remove all from the bank into their account first?

Is the bank coming back?
Is your new mod compatible with IbPro Arcade 3.+ as the old version was?

Black Tiger 11-17-2010 03:05 PM

Oke maybe code is the same, but there are some text differences and upgrade gives an sql error and nothing of the forum then works so something is wrong with that Pixel 2.x version.

Anyway, this still leaves my other 4 questions, 2 about the bank and 1 about the Arcade and 1 about the fix for the fact that all users suddenly lost all their bank amount of credits. Or can I forget about that last one, now there are new teams?

M4GN3T 11-17-2010 09:10 PM

Big bug, when a user edits a post and saves it, he gets the same ammount of points again. You have a fix for this?

M4GN3T 11-19-2010 02:30 PM

Can you please fix that bug?
