Change Log:

Updated 4.2PL2
  • Added Blog & CMS xmls

Updated 4.2 b1a

Feature: Added a Blue version.
  • Fixed Navigation background
  • Fixed transparent Blogs and Articles body_background stylevar.

Updated to 4.2-b1: Since there were some fairly large changes since 4.1.4 somethings may look a bit different but all in all the style remains in its original form.

This style is in beta stage, please remember to take backups when making major changes to your website styles/skins. Use this at your own risk!

CMSTemplateZ 07-02-2010 10:23 AM

Awesome, Thx for this perfect style for my gaming site, saves my designing one now :)

Confirming the style is fine... Your error looks to be a sever error, and not a problem with the style, good luck

I cannot duplicate this, have installed on 3 sites with no issues. Sorry I have no fix for your problem or advice other than disable plugins and try again.

Server error? you got to be joking right? I am installing a theme which is images and a style file that's it.

To make a point I just downloaded and uploaded gaming https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=245625 and it worked with out a problem.

I will disable the plugins and see if I can get the theme to work on my forum. Thanks for the help :)

Trip3151 07-02-2010 10:49 AM

UPDATE: I disabled the plugins via config.php and I still have the same error :( damn such a nice theme as well so close but yet so far from using it lol.

Hi Qwk86gn still have the same problem here is the error:

Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'Exception' with message 'Unable to find a class to validate: vB_TemplateParser_Curlycssfile' in /home/out47814/public_html/forum/includes/class_template_parser.php:1083 Stack trace: #0 /home/out47814/public_html/forum/includes/class_template_parser.php(1019): vB_TemplateParser->validate_curly(Object(vB_CurlyNode), Array) #1 /home/out47814/public_html/forum/includes/adminfunctions_template.php(2863): vB_TemplateParser->validate(Array) #2 /home/out47814/public_html/forum/includes/adminfunctions_template.php(4171): compile_template() #3 /home/out47814/public_html/forum/includes/adminfunctions_template.php(4089): xml_import_template_groups('{vb:stylevar ht...') #4 /home/out47814/public_html/forum/admincp/template.php(530): xml_import_style(12, 'vbulletin', Array, false) #5 {main} thrown in /home/out47814/public_html/forum/includes/class_template_parser.php on line 1083

Qwk86gn 07-02-2010 11:00 AM

Are you using vBulletin 4.0.4?

This style is mostly graphical, all templates are basically left unchanged. So I'm really at a lose here.

Trip3151 07-02-2010 11:01 AM

Hmmm I am thinking I should upgrade to 4.0.4! let me upgrade the forum and then I will see how I go with installing this theme :)

Trip3151 07-02-2010 11:01 AM

LOL yeah going to upgrade now mate thanks bud

Trip3151 07-02-2010 11:32 AM

Back and updated to 4.0.4 and the theme works :) now we know that this theme will not work with 4.0.3 :) thanks for one of the best free dark themes for VB mate you have done a great job.

Just a small note for some reason the styles folder needs to have a CAP S ( Styles ) for the theme to work though other themes have a small s ( styles ) thought I would let ya know.

thanks for a great theme

Trippy

Qwk86gn 07-02-2010 12:21 PM

The folder directory is something that is not a "set" thing among styles. I have a tendency to use Caps like that. No harm and it keeps styles from ********** only in the Styles folder. Some designers just upload their styles in the vbroot/images directory.

wtfjeffy 07-02-2010 03:50 PM

Hello... I am quite fond of your theme here... I was just wondering how difficult would it be to simply change the orange on black that you have to something like... red? thank you! nice job :)

Qwk86gn 07-02-2010 03:56 PM

Would take changing all link_colors throughout the style and re-coloring a couple images. Feel free to sign up at my site and put your request in the "Request" forum.

Streetgliderx 07-04-2010 03:50 AM

i just loaded a new version of VB 4.04 CMS suite. when i loaded the theme i get this

Qwk86gn 07-04-2010 04:41 AM

Looks as if you didnt get the files uploaded in the right folder directory.

When you extract the zip, upload everything in the "upload" folder to your "images" directory of your vbulletin install.

CMSTemplateZ 07-04-2010 06:35 AM

Hey not to keen on freestyles but this is dam sexy, my conversions rates / site sign ups have increased 300%... WOULD BE HAPYTO MAKE A DODNATIONS FOR YOU FOR THIS STYLES.

tHANKAS AGAIN.

thank you sir i will try it again

Streetgliderx 07-04-2010 03:59 PM

ok still having some issues with it.... when i go to my ftp and load the folders. i have a folder called blackend, within it i have the readme file the xml file and the folder called upload. within that folder another folder called styles. i must be putting everything in the wrong place. also if i load this theme it takes over and i cannot use the default theme unless i remove the blackend and reimport the derfault theme

ok tried it this time by loading styles to my images folder and then importing the xml from the hard drive on my PC. it now lets me swap between the two but still only shows red Xs for the buttons....

thank you for your time

Qwk86gn 07-05-2010 03:08 AM

Could I get a link to your site with the style selectable?

Thanks.

SoltanWorld 07-05-2010 06:53 AM

CMSTemplateZ 07-05-2010 08:26 AM

I had the same problem

You need to upload Blackend like this in your ftp:

forum/images/Styles/Blackend

It has to be 100% like that Styles has a cap S not a small s

refresh and it should work

SouthEastSxS 07-06-2010 08:51 PM

That's a great looking skin, thanks very much, just what I was looking for.

Streetgliderx 07-06-2010 11:54 PM

Try setting Blackend as your default style in the AdminCP -> Settings -> Options -> Style & Language Settings -> Default Style "Blackend"

Let me know if that does not work.

Yes on the logo. In StyleVars for Blackend search for: titleimage

Set the path to your logo.

Streetgliderx 07-07-2010 12:43 AM

logo worked but the default selection of blackend didnt change the CMS... i may have underlying issues with the CMS since the first botched install attempt of the theme... it will not display widgets anymore. i tried to rebuild the default style and i even ran my tools.php program to reimport the default theme but no luck...

Qwk86gn 07-07-2010 01:00 AM

On your Home Page click on the edit pencil next to the page title. There you should see a "Style" choice. Select Blackend.

On the Widgets I'm not sure what your problem might be.

Streetgliderx 07-07-2010 01:17 AM

BINGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thank you!

BTW qwk 86 GN mean grand national?

Streetgliderx 07-07-2010 01:20 AM

ok one last thing i found for today and i promise to enjoy this theme and quit nit picking....

on my default theme in stylvars>postbit_content_image_max_width i set it to 640 and all the pictures members put in the [img] code would not excede 640 px... but when i do that in the blackend theme stylevars it wont resize the pics

Alright I found the problem for the postbit_content_max_image_width.

Use this xml and overwrite your current Blackend style.

OP updated with fix.

Thanks Street.

SouthEastSxS 07-07-2010 03:21 AM

Hi guys, the more I mess with setting up my new vBul 4 forum with this skin the more I like it. Here is my forum http://www.southeastutv.com/site1 its a temp domain while I et it ready as i already have a forum up and dont want to move the domain just yet.

Anyhooooo, it appears they may be some small icon missing from this skin, or maybe you can show me the user error. If you look on my home page you will see the widgets on the left and they have no icons. If you right click on the red x telling you the image cannot be displayed it shows it is looking for - http://www.southeastutv.com/site1/im...icons/html.png.

That file simply doesn't exist. The directory structure does but not the file.

SouthEastSxS 07-07-2010 03:30 AM

I have just copied it from the default skin into this one, just a heads up on the missing firle though. :-)
