Change Threads/Posts Owner/Date for vB4

1 Attachment(s)
Change Posts Owner

Created by Marius Czyz aka Phalynx. Converted to vBulletin 4 by Speedy1505.

Tested on vBulletin 4.0.3 and 4.0.4

What does this modification do?
It can change the owner and date of multiple threads and post. For this, it adds another option to your mod actions on forumdisplay, showthread and search results. After selecting some threads or posts, you can choose the new owner by name or by UserID. "By name" works with the AJAX namesuggestion, we all know it from writing a PM. After changing the name, it rebuilds thread/forum counters and post counter of old and new user. Attachments will also be assigned to new user.

Installtime: <1 minutes
Difficulty: very easy (1 product)

Demo is not available, due to missing permissions on my board.

Please click Mark as INSTALLED, otherwise I will not support you.

Features
- Can change owner and date of selected posts and threads (including database attachments - it will not move file attachments)
- Can change owner to unregistered user and back
- Can accept user id and username
- Username input is driven by AJAX
- Post count of involved users will be increased/decreased
- Thread and forum counters of involved threads and forums will be rebuild
- Supports inline moderation
- Makes use of $template_hooks, hooks and simple group permissions
- Every change will leave a notice in moderation log

1000 Thanks you two!!!

Regards, Bruno

Edit: Tested on 4.0.4 German, works nice. Thanks again!!

KURTZ 06-24-2010 08:43 AM

thanks Marius :)

Nice one, can you please add this option on Search=>Newpost and Forumdisplay options? it will be nice to change owner of multiple threads at once.

Thanks

MOTM

Charlie98902 06-24-2010 10:58 PM

This is a Admin only feature right? Sorry I didn't see this answered.

Phalynx 06-25-2010 05:28 AM

Right.

ArchAngelz 06-25-2010 06:12 AM

Would it be possible for this to work at the point of thread/post creation like this other mod (which unfortunately is buggy as it doesn't update post counts like yours and sends thread subscription emails in the name of the original poster).

This is already possible.
A corresponding entry is present in the Moderator options.

.......great!

installed...

thank you!

How to disable the display of "started by" and date by default? i.e, to only show username of thread creator?

I know this isn't related to this plugin directly.

Bellethiel 07-28-2010 03:39 PM

Hello,

is it possible to allow some other usergroups besides the admins to change postowners?

Yes, check the setting Change thread/Posts Owner - "Use group permission"

Bellethiel 07-28-2010 07:29 PM

Hmm i remember that i saw those options in 4.0.3 but i can't find them in 4.0.5...

laebshade 07-28-2010 09:58 PM

Neat mod. Is there any way for this to work with Calendar Events?

Bellethiel 08-01-2010 11:13 AM

And are you sure that it works with 4.0.5? I really can't find the options for that where i could set some usergroups. I even reinstalled the addon and still nothing...

Phalynx 08-01-2010 04:45 PM

I can confirm that with my two vBulletin 4.0.5 boards. Where did you looked for the option/setting?

Bellethiel 08-01-2010 06:06 PM

kinda everywhere. It would help if you could say where exactly it should be :3

Phalynx 08-01-2010 06:10 PM

(...)

AdminCP, Settings, Options, Change thread/Posts Owner, "Use group permission"

Bellethiel 08-01-2010 06:16 PM

Well i deinstalled the mod and then tried the english version and that works like it should and that tr thing works too but the german version doesn't give me that menu.

Of course, as in german it's called "?ndert den Besitzer eines Themas/Beitrags". You've never mentioned that you are using a translated version.

Bellethiel 08-01-2010 07:25 PM

Well i'm sure it would have another name but it doesn't show up there at all.

DDIG 08-17-2010 03:37 PM

Works perfectly on 4.0.6

Only one thing: mod's can see inline moderation tools and they can *see* but cannot *use* this option. Only Admins may use the hack, moderators may not. That is OK, but if a usergroup doesn't have rights to use the hack then they also must not see it in the inline moderation popup menu. Now they know the option exists, and start asking questions about it as to why they are not allowed to use that option.

-=Leb=- 08-25-2010 12:42 AM

i was waiting for this long time ago. good job :) installed and nominated.

I agree, and have been asking for this since 3.7 I think.

Merjawy 09-02-2010 10:21 AM

Nice mod, I am using it for long time with vB 3
one problem though, when I allow Admins only to use it.. it still shows up as an option to SMODs but they can't use it.. I don't like it showing up unless they have the permission to use it

Thanks

lemonadesoda 09-02-2010 08:53 PM

Thanks, great mod. Installed!

I have made a couple of small edits to the code, relabelling the tool and buttons to "Change TIME/DATE/Author" since I use this mod mostly to edit the time of a post so that I can INSERT or MOVE a post in an existing thread. Great if I want to add a comment between existing posts.

In fact, a great addition would be to be able to select a new button "INSERT POST" that would automatically reply with a time/date stamp half way between the selected post and the next post.

Thank you so much for this modification - it made my life so much easier!
(hint hint vBulletin team - it should be a default option!)

BRotondi 09-29-2010 12:05 PM

Suggestion: AdminCP, Settings, Options, Change thread/Posts Owner, "Server Offset [hours]: 0"

Regards and Thanks again for this mod!

Phalynx 10-27-2010 10:56 AM

CMS/Blogs not supported.

Thanks for persian translation.

btlewand 10-29-2010 04:01 AM

I removed a similar mod https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=241481 because this didn't require template modifications and cannot find where in the post to edit. Wouldn't be in edit, go advanced? Are we sure it works in 4.08?

Harley D 10-30-2010 02:33 PM

Works on VB 4.08 depending on the THEME. works on most Themes that I have.
