The skins you are using are for the version of your vbulletin?
|
Is your portal 'vbadvanced' by any chance? I had issues with it wanting to change the URL's to many of my images during the install, from relative to absolute URL's, I had to change them manually to get them to work right.
|
You should ask this in the thread or support site for the portal software you are using.

I am new to all this and dont know what much of this stuff is .. |
I don't know what portal software you are using, so i can't direct you to the correct place.
|
hi .. it is vBadvanced portal ...Thanks a lot 5Stones

I had to go to Styles & Templates -> Style Manager -> All Style Options and change all the image paths to start with "/forums/images" because I have my forum installed in the "forums" directory under the root- you will need to customize this based on your forum... You will also need to make these changes if you have any image tags in any of your templates that you need/call from vbadvanced for me this meant changing my navbar termplate to replace calls to "images/folder/file" to "/forums/images/folder/file" adding the '/' in front tells the browser to look in the root of the website so you need a more complete path then without the '/' in which it looks under whatever directory the page is called from.
Finally I had to make the same changes to all my smilies... 307 of them at the time... manually. :( and will have to change it each time I add a new one from here on out. vbadvanced has it's own support forums on their site, you may get better info from there. |
You can upload the install, and click the umm repace images thing. It will work i have done it many times with my gaming board.

Doing with the script would be easier tbh.
|
Oh much easier, I totally agree... I just figured for whatever reason that didn't work if he was asking about it here... but yes, totally try the built in script first if you haven't.

On my FTP the fellow that did it for me made a place after you click on public html to get into the forums ..He made me a folder there and called it Images in put it right below Forums ..And he told me as i load a skin to put it in that image frist then go to Forums click it then add it to the image folder in the forums section also.. is this any thing that you may be talking about for me to add ???5Stones |

If it doesn't then do what I said, although I can tell you aren't too familiar with this so you might want to ask someone who can teach/help you through it... It sounds to me like your forums directory is under public_html and your images are under that, and you may have a custom style under that even... the location to your images therefore is either /forums/images/ or /forums/images/style-name - do you have a link to your forum I may be able to figure that out. |
Please post on the vBAdvanced support website for questions regarding their product.
