As the title says, are you planing to get the iphone 4 ?

i m staying with my bold 9700 . I wish that the nexus one or the iphone 4 were a RIM product.

I still have 10 months left on my 3gs contract, so not atm but it looks great.

Mmm, I've to decide between a iPhone 3GS or a Android phone by HTC today so if I buy the iPhone will definitely upgrade to iPhone 4 :)

I've been an avid iPhone user since the beginning but Apple's business practices are starting to make Microsoft look like saints. Yes, what the iPhone does, it does well but it's so locked down and you are at the beck and call of Apple's every whim. When my contract is up I am probably going to move to Droid, looks pretty cool to me.

Might as well get the droid if you're jailbreaking iPhones. Voids warranties and without a replaceable battery that's something I don't want to void any time soon.

I was planning to buy a new android phone, with 1GHz CPU, but after reading a mass of reviews, I am ignoring my Apple allergy and will buy the Iphone 4 as soon as I can get it. Seems the Netherlands is way behind on the release schedule, so I need to find a way to order it of the net.

Motorola is supposedly coming out with a 2 GHZ phone this year. I see an iphone killer on the horizon.

Got a HTC Desire instead

It seems Germany is releasing the iPhone on June 24th, while the Netherlands is releasing it at the end of July. The price in Germany seems to be a staggering ? 1.050.00 :eek:
That surely curbs my enthusiasm.

I rather be in contract and have free hours and extras, than have to pay for every bit and byte you make, and have a few less features. No use paying off-right when it's just a few hundred cheaper, while paying over two years includes all costs, basically.

Iphone 4 is not coming to t-mobile. The t-mobile 3g band ( AWS 1700) is not supported by the iphone.

At&t has an exclusive deal with apple to carry the iphone. Once that expires , the iphone might be available on other networks, though verizon might be the next carrier in line.

AWS is not a very common 3g band, few carriers use that (t-mobile,wind and mobilicity here in canada). There is a rumor that the phone will be available on the verizon network by christmas.

Yes they have been saying this for years now and many people thought that the Tmobile G1 was gonna kill the iPhone and years later the iPhone continues to be the most popular phone on the planet too bad such a nice phone was stuck with AT&T's network for all this time and now they are stiffing people with a bandwidth limited dataplan!!!! Now that Apple has a CDMA version this opens it up to Sprint..

Apple does have an exclusive deal with T-mobile. But not in the USA. Floris is from the Netherlands.

- Hate the poor quality camera compared to "cheaper phones"
- Hate that the app store is strictly regulated, no freedom to develop (except for us citizens)
- oh btw, EUR prices are about 3 to 4 times the us price, and its usually double the cost of
competetors phones..

Their software is clunky, old, dated, and not all that friendly. Their phones are falling way behind as well. And their strategy to just keep the same phone model and add tiny little things to it over the course of every 2-3 years isn't going to help in the long run as their hardware is getting dated now as well.

I have no plan to get a Iphone, nor will my Parents either.

I think the iPhone 4 update for the 3GS works just fine, I also note that the iPhone 3GS has a pretty poor battery life with any of the Bluetooth and the Wireless featrures enabled - otherwise the new update iOS4 works quite nicely and I really love the drop in images.

Multi-tasking is excellent and glad it has come ... Though a lot more features could be introduced :)

Still no news in the Netherlands, not even a pre-sale.

BTW: Anyone have a clue about the announcement for friday regarding iPhone 4? Is there going to be a recall or some other for of reimbursement for them releasing such garbage

I was planning on switching from verizon to AT&T tomorrow and buying the IPhone, however your post has just taught me that maybe I should wait until Saturday ;)

I quit using iPhone today, too buggy, will use google phone then.

We may just be lucky that we missed the presale. Pressure is building on Apple to do a recall. The situation much reminds me of the time shortly after the vb 4 release.

The iPhone 4's biggest problem is not its antenna

They had their little public meeting today and it was a joke. Jobs even had the gall to say that all smartphones have the antenna problem, even the Blackberry Bold 9700 (which I have). One of the guys said he couldn't get his Bold 9700 to drop the bars while they were there and Jobs told him "It doesn't happen in all areas." They have decided to give away free cases, until September 30th, to fix the problem. Glad I didn't get in on the iphone.
