What does it look like if you use Postbit Legacy?

Dalt584 06-02-2010 01:14 AM

How do you install this

ctrlbrk 06-02-2010 01:35 AM

Perfect, I've been wanting this :)

Mike

Taurus1 06-02-2010 02:45 AM

I like it! Thanks guys!

One thing though. Is it possible to manually insert it where I want it do display in my Postbit Legacy. Because mine is changed, and I would like it to be moved to below the username.

Great mod!!

Installed on 3.8.4.

Only thing is that the default message is not working for my current users. They all show as "is" and not the default I set it to. Any Ideas?

The same here. The username don't show, and also the default message don't show either. (3.8.5)

Yes you can. In your template section search for "postbit_dbtech_status". Copy the code into a notepad file...clear it from the template and save it (nothing should be in there now).

Next find your "postbit_legacy" template and locate where you want the status to show. Once you find the spot just copy the code you just pasted in your notepad file in that spot.

Backup your original template files just in case. I played around with it until I got it.

what a great mod.
nice idea. but in legacy we cant write big sentence

DragonByte Tech 06-02-2010 06:19 AM

Thank for the reports. We'll get these fixed soon.

FreshFroot 06-02-2010 06:43 AM

Hey there... I got a neat idea.

Is there anyway we could make a box on the forumhome page, which would list the latest status changes/updates from members?

For example on your DBTech forums on the right you have a twitter, blog, recent topics box. What if there was a Recent Status Update box? However, this would be needed for 4.0 and 3.8.

Just thought I'd throw the idea out there.

This is a very good mod to start off.

Nice work DBTech!

Thank you very much for the info mate. Gonna play around with it a bit!

I'd like to make a suggestion (shocker!) :)

I want it so the default is blank (no mood), and in postbit nothing shows up.

Then, for logged in user, they (and only themselves) will see an option like "Set your mood" so they can set the mood.

This way the people that want to use it can. But for everyone else, it is blank to begin with and stays blank until it is set by the user.

I'm also on postbit legacy, and would appreciate a $forumhook that I can just input in where I want it.

Mike

I get an error when clicking on a thread or members profile? I have disabled. Can someone help me with this please?

What's your site URL?

infnity8x3 06-04-2010 10:47 PM

Awesome mod. I would love to be able to make it optional, for my users. Like Have the ability for them to set it in there profiles but if they never set any thing or if they blank the entry out it will disappear from there postbit.

Don't know if you catch my drift. Like a if statement

if $status_text = " " OR if $status_text = [default_status]

So if nothing is in the status text field or if it is still default then it will never display the div containing the status in post bit.

I hope that kinda makes enough since so that you know what I'm talking about.

Updated To Fix A Few Bugs

Changes:
  • Character Issue Fixed
  • Odd Prefix Issue Fixed
To upgrade simply reupload all files and import the product file (overwrite = yes).

- David

infnity8x3 06-05-2010 01:36 AM

Status doesn't update in the post bit after update.

Tested on vanilla 3.8.5

smnet 06-05-2010 09:25 AM

Issues that need addressing:-
  1. Admins / Super mods need a way of changing unsuitable / offensive statuses (URGENT)
  2. Needs to take *banned / censored words* into account (URGENT)
  3. Fix issue with admin / mods not being able to press enter to update

Hope this helps.

For now, I need to uninstall this mod due to the first two issues

FreshFroot 06-07-2010 05:31 AM

Hey Fillip.

Is there any way the changes are logged?

eg. when a user updated their status? or is it all thrown in the users data table?

I thought it would be cool to have a box, which shows the latest status updates. I assume for this you would need a table for times, too see which status are the latest?

Maybe if you have time you can add that in?? I think it's a create stats box to have on the forumhome.

cykelmyggen 06-07-2010 05:46 AM

It makes my VbShout Pro stop working with the "service unavailable" message, and it isn't enough to disable it, I have to completely delete the Status-folder from server to get things running again.
Error message from VbShout Pro:
Code:

Invalid SQL:

                                        WHERE vbshout.userid = 5

That's already present, and there should be a profile tab with the status changes on each member's profile :)

Please try uninstalling / deleting files then re-downloading the zip and re-uploading all the files then re-import the XML.

If that doesn't work either, please uninstall / delete again and wait for v1.1, where this will be permanently fixed :)

Doesn't work, unfortunately. I guess I'll wait for 1.1. then.

Facebook Style Status has been updated to v1.1, which fixes all known problems and brings one of your most requested features:
Ability to allow certain usergroups to edit others' statuses!

We hope you enjoy this update!

Sweeks 06-08-2010 01:13 PM

Thanks for the update will be upgrading tonight :) Any chance of a block with the latest updates for forumhome? I would love to see that perhaps as an addon for the addon. Ability to add it somewhere on the index to edit your status would be cool too.

smnet 06-08-2010 01:22 PM

Does this take into` account banned / censored words? If not then I still cant install.
