[DBTech] Advanced Post Thanks / Like v3 (vB4) [AJAX]
 

What it is: Advanced Thanks/Like mod is designed to cut down on spam and increase useful content in your forum by using a peer encouragement system - users thank/like each others posts, which can give them access to attachements, post content etc, as well as encourage the thanked person to post more great content.

What does 'Marking As Installed' do ?

* It helps you to stay on top of updates - members who have installed modifications will be notified by us whenever new updates are available.

* For security issues - vbulletin.org will contact all members who have installed a modification whenever a security issue is brought to their attention.

* Marking a modification as installed also helps us know how many people are using our work, giving us extra incentive to provide more features and new modifications.

Importer from Abe's Thanks mod (vB3 / vB4) and vBSEO "Likes" now available in Lite version!


Major Features: Lite

Require a Button Click: Allows you to hide the content of a post, or hie an attachment, until the person clicks a button on the post.

Statistics: Shows the top 5 people for; Giving / Receiving button clicks.

Collapsable postbit stats: Shows how many button clicks a person has given, received etc in the postbit. Admins can determine what statistics can show in the postbit to control sizes etc. The postbit is also collapsable.

Admin Permissions: Control things such as who can click buttons, require button clicks, what shows in postbit, what options can run concurrently, per forum permisions etc.

Reputation: Add / Remove Reputation for each of your button clicks.

Notifications: Receive alerts when a member clicked on one of the buttons for one of your posts.

Import Thanks: Import script to import "thanks" from Abe's [AJAX] Post Thank You Hack on vBulletin.org. It will work with both vB3 and vB4 versions of this mod.

Import Likes: Import script to import "likes" from vBSEO.


Major Features: Pro

Infinite Buttons: Ability to create new buttons to press! No longer do you need to be limited by Thanks / Like / Dislike.

Auto Collapse Posts: Collapses a post so it doesnt show up by using a formulae for button clicks of your choosing.

User Postbit Config: Lets users decide what postbit stats they want to see.

Additional permissions: Un-click a button. Control how many stats show on the statistics page, set permissions per subforum.

Integrated Controls: You can now integrate the button clicking controls into the post footer, like many of you requested.

Buttons in First Post Only: This allows you to only make the first post thankable. If you forum is based around news, releases or anything similar this will allow your users to easily see the quality of the thread in question.

Button Click Anonymity: This feature will be extremely helpful to forums who like the idea of a "dislike" button, but don't like the drama it brings. Now you can set certain buttons to be anonymous - no one will see who clicked.

Post Colour Thresholds: Ever wanted an easy way for members to tell if a post is helpful or trash? Colour thresholds let you change the colour of posts depending on how many clicks of a button they receive. Members can now see at a glance whether or not a post is helpful, interesting or pointless.

I uploaded them 3 times already, and I get that message when I try to import the product. Do I have to chmod something?

Installer problem has been fixed.

Also, a major bug has been fixed: Users who did not have a usergroup permission that does not exist in Lite would render this mod non-functional for their posts.

Please re-download the zip file and re-upload the files.

Does this mod allow import of the other Thanks Mod currently available at vb.org?

The Pro version includes a free importer from the Post Thank You v7.7 :)

We're also investigating creating an import script from the other one made by... um.. some other guy. I forgot.
One of our customers use it :p

I'll have to have a serious think over it, as I wouldn't want users to lose what they've thanked, etc.

Rarely do our products integrate right off the bat, we prefer to listen to the feedback of you guys to figure out just how you want it to integrate :)

That's not currently possible, but it's something to consider for the future :)

Yeah that will be an option once I create the integration :)

The pro version allows users to also Dislike the thread.

You can choose to disallow both Thanks and Like via the Settings link in the AdminCP.

If you're not referring to "helpful answers" then you should consider adding an importer for it as well. It's less known but it's much better than the post thank you hack.

Yes you can, I upgraded from that mod to this one as well. However the import function is a feature of the Pro version of this mod, so be aware of that. But it functions MUCH better (and is supported) than other TY mods and is why I switched to this one.

I can't dislike topic which I liked

This is obviously a nice mod, but it is kinda useless in my opinion to have available both "Thank" and "Like" features. I mean... if a member give thanks for a topic it means also that he/she likes it... and vice-versa.
Plus, it's heavy to have all such voices in the user's avatar posts view.... "thanks received..." "thanks given..." "liked..." "likes received..." too many :( How can I keep that dropdown closed by default? Right now its always open...

Anyway.. back to my request... is it possible to disable the Like/Liked feature and keep only the Thanks/Thanked one?
Also... the thanked/thanks topics (as well as Like/Liked ones) are not linked to the relative topics in the avatar/posts view? Why?
It would be better than having a rough counter without have the chance to look at the topics...

Un-liking / un-thanking is a Pro only feature :)

I don't know how to have it closed by default in vB4 :(

Maybe its me but whats new from "[AJAX] Post Thank You Hack " other than Tons of postbit spam and a like button?
and people have to pay to un-thanks? O_o i dont get it

My people have been hounding me for a "Laugh" button. Maybe a better option than "Like"?

v1.0.1 has been released, which fixes all known bugs as well as improves upon an existing feature:
If the post requires Thanks or Like to see post content and/or attachments, it will now refresh the post without needing to reload the page.

To update, download the product, upload all files and import the XML file.

How would i go about changing the Colour of the "Thanks for this post"button to match the brown background? (see attachment)
