Project Tool .................

Rahstyles 05-04-2010 04:03 AM

Lol.. hand down media mod.. What is project tools? another mod that dont have any demo or screen shots

your24hourstore 05-04-2010 01:04 PM

its hard to find something to keep people on a site long enough to convince them to stay awhile and media by 8wayrun is hands down the stickiest mod Ive seen, for you who don't know sticky is a term use to hold people on a site. its fine to have tools to operate an empty board the trick is getting it full and keeping it that way.

something is wrong with an awards system like this when the people voting don't even mark as installed on a mod then vote it in as mod of the month.

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=241453
the leading mod here the tools mod has Rating: (1 vote - 5.00 average) Installs: 96

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=240677
and the mod I voted for has like Rating: (53 votes - 4.77 average) Installs: 132

what the heck is going on with that seems like people would vote when the 96 people installed this mod.
maybe this mod of the month system should be for people who actually voted or Installed these products not some erroneous voting method. I want a recount

Me thinks me smells a rat or something stinky :D

Having it installed (or not) is not relevant to whether you think its the mod of the month. I dont think I have installed any of the mods ive voted for.

I can :D

then what qualifies them in your opinion, that they should be mod of the anything?

just like people who vote in real life, they know nothing about what they are voting for, they just vote for what other people who have an oppiion believe

little sheepy if you ask me ...and no im not asking you :>

I'll occasionally vote for mods I don't install either...

Coders & Designers appreciate good code and product design. You don't need to have first hand experience of the mod for that.

If it's a good concept, well featured and well executed, but i have no use for it on my forum, why should that mean I cannot vote for it? It still fulfills all of the relevant critera to be the best modification that month, and I'm more than capable of judging that without installing it =)

What you are suggesting is people vote for "Mod that is most useful for my personal board this month" not "Best mod created this month".

This is supposed to be about the latter, not the former ;)

as a coder I suppose you have your priority about what you want to see in a mod, its obviously not what the average user would agree is important. and The fact that the product is driven by coders to modify a commercial product , like it was open source, so that it is more useful to people like me the end user. means that the customer is always right :>

so the world is in the end still sane. The mod i voted for got my money and the one you voted for didn't get your money, obviously so who won?

let me give you an example of whats wrong with this software, the sitemap generator doesn't work right, so someone writes an addon that does work, then vbull, upgrades making the mod you payed for not work, so they upgrade, and the vicious circle is complete. But does VBull fix sitemap?

truth is mod of the whatever is a pointless childish futile effort in the same thing we as site owners are trying to do with your MODS, make a site worth sticking around long enough to find the next little interest grabbing link to click on , so they stay here wasting time like im doing talking to you.

but there is always you tube !
