Installed thanks

KURTZ 04-29-2010 04:35 PM

how about the original (author's) IP ... ? :)

Sador 04-29-2010 06:45 PM

Nice. I used to have a mod that allowed me to also edit the IP and date / time when posting or editing a new thread / post in vB3.

Would you perhaps be willing to add those functions to your mod too? That would be great.

Thanks in advance anyway, installed. :)

tahrim 04-29-2010 07:00 PM

Nice one

cooltechie 04-29-2010 07:31 PM

We also would like the modification of the date/time for forum posts.

We were using this mod: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=200952

TimberFloorAu 04-29-2010 08:03 PM

So we can Change the thread owner as the THREAD is created ?
Previous versions of this, meant you had to post as A and then edit and change to B

So in this example: I can create a thread and choose the AUTHOR on the fly ?

Date edit would be useful.
IP edit not so useful for me, as only admins have that viewable, plus if in 6 months I track back to the thread I created in another authors name, a quick IP check shows it was me who did it lol

Installed , EXCELLENT !!!!!

I would like the option when EDITING a post I created as another AUTHOR, to be able to change that AUTHOR to yet another AUTHOR>

Can we do this.

Fungsten 04-29-2010 08:39 PM

Good Mod. BTW I can't find this template:

In vbcms_edit_publisher template, find:
<div class="twothirdsright">{vb:raw username}</div>

But everything seems to work ok though.

If the coder of this Mod do as same or better of that Mod you post there will be the Bomb and definetly MOTM caliber

Videx 04-30-2010 02:52 AM

If it weren't for the four template edits needed, this would be nice. I just hate to have to re-edit all those files every time I upgrade. I'd sooner just delete the post and let the person re-post it under the correct name.

What do you mean?
You CAN edit the post's author, just press edit post and you'll see the option.

KURTZ 04-30-2010 10:26 AM

anyways, i think that you can build this hack without any templates edits ... :)

patrick91 05-09-2010 08:03 PM

Is it possible to put all posts of a deleted user to the active username?

MalluParadise 05-10-2010 01:52 AM

nice installed !!

tlwwolfseye 05-10-2010 05:52 AM

That is a very nice Mod. I just installed it on my vB4.0.3. I can change the Authors Name, but from the pictures posted above, I can't see any Publishing Options such as when it was posted etc. to change that.

What did I miss ?

MrKramer 05-10-2010 07:11 AM

Please can you make this as a product, i hate editing my templates.
I will use when its a product.
its a verry good mod though.

The picture with the Publishing Options is from the CMS.

tarus 05-11-2010 10:47 PM

thanks.. I've been waiting a long time... installed & working.. :)

robbiefritz 05-12-2010 11:09 AM

I think that I will wait for a version that does not require template edits. I have used such a hack in the past but for the little that I would use it, I will just repost and delete.

Thanks for the effort!

Yellow Slider 05-12-2010 04:35 PM

The modification now lets you change creation date of posts.

Frans72 05-13-2010 01:37 PM

I actually *prefer* the template-edits. No matter how you do it you have to add *something* to regular vB.

There are mods which inject their code into existing templates and thus they require no template-edits. However such injections are not handled on a vB update at all, the upgrade/diff system doesn't even see them. So they might simply stop working on a new version 'cos the injection code doesn't find its target anymore.

With template edits, the regular diff system will pick up problems. Easier.

robotnjik 05-14-2010 12:14 PM

is it possible to add change date option for blog entries :)!?
thanks!

elmstr 05-14-2010 09:38 PM

Thanks for the update! Installed and working fine.

The Plug-in shows still V 1.0 (from the new XML)...

darkobg 05-16-2010 02:07 PM

Thank youuuuuuuuuuuuuuu :)

FReeSTER 05-19-2010 02:23 AM

thank you for tthe upgrade but can you please add the changing time and date in new threads and replies.

Thank you very much

chipc0i 05-19-2010 03:44 AM

how change many threads' author in same times?

asuccar 05-21-2010 06:10 AM

Can you please help...

I installed everything exactly as your instructions indicate (i've quadruple checked everything)...when i create an article the author field does appear and I select 'display author' but BUT when i save the article the author still shows up with my username.

Can you suggest anything?

The author name must exist in the user database.

I also had this issue-

check your permissions settings- does the username your trying to use have "permission" to post an Article . . .

changing the permissions for that group worked for me. GL

asuccar 05-21-2010 11:45 PM

I checked all my permissions...ok.

For the articles, can't i just add any name?

ArchAngelz 05-22-2010 03:04 AM

Quite strange, when I download and install the product, it shows as v1.0

ArchAngelz 05-22-2010 03:14 AM

I've tried this out and it seems that making posts in the name of another person does NOT give that other person the post count of the post just created; is this intended or is it a bug?
