upload failed
I have been trying to upload a new vB4 style on and off for the past 4 hours but I am continuously getting an upload error when I try to attach the zip-file.
The zip-file is 2.14Mb so it should upload okay as the upload limit has been increased to 3Mb. Is there a known problem with uploads or am I suffering with sods law? --------------- Added [DATE]1271057656[/DATE] at [TIME]1271057656[/TIME] --------------- The attachments restriction is still 2Mb it would seem, uploading over 2Mb failed again just moments ago, I broke the style down into 2 files both below 2Mb and the upload went along nicely. It would really help if the attachment restriction could be increased. |
Looks like it is the PHP Max Post Size that is currently limiting the attachment size. We will contact to server guys to raise this.
|
Thank you ever so much for the response Marco and for looking into it for us.
|
Hi Marco :), I have just tried uploading an update to Robotic Red and the upload is still failing, are your server guys on the case?
|
Looka like no changes yet.

^^ Hi, the MAX size is 1 MB; so can't you just split the file into chunks?..:) P.S. Nm, got it!... Quote:

So being able to upload just a single file for a single download is really important to ensure we are supporting our friends from over-seas by making things as easy to follow as possible. :) |
The request has been made to IB, beyond that, there is nothing else we can do. :)
|
Also having this problem. vBulletin 4 images directory alone without modifications is almost 2MB

2nd thread i posted in after searching the board again for solutions. |
I'll join the queue for increasing the ZIP size, considering the default vb image folder is now more than 2MB.. i think the file upload should be increased to atleast 3 or 4mb.
Also i have a weird issue to Post title's not being edited.. Is there a limit to number of times it can be edited.? |

Then i believe there is a problem because pretty sure the post title's cant be edited after certain number of edits. Atleast mine's not
|
Are you talking about a post title or thread title?
|
for the limit size of the image directorys. I deleted alot of useless image directories which only need to be in the forum root.
For example: /ads/ /editor/ /regimage/ /style_generator/ and the largest one /help/ Drop my package size from 3.1MB to 1.7MB |
I encountered this issue with a 3MB mod I uploaded a couple of weeks ago, I got around it by uploading to another host then using the Upload via URL feature - not a fantastic method but a workaround for now :)

Did you try it using Edit Thread?

vB should clean up some images they use in those folders anyway, lot of gifs from vb3 era still bloat those folders (i assume). --------------- Added [DATE]1277218083[/DATE] at [TIME]1277218083[/TIME] --------------- Quote:
Usually i could edit thread from main listing page double click (ajax) way. But i have noticed after 10 odd edits, i couldnt edit thread or Mod title's anymore.. Unless im missing an obvious link. In fact when i tried to edit the title it already says 4.0.4 but its show 4.0.3, rather strange. |
For a modification thread Edit Thread = Edit Modification.
|
Yeah it doesnt edit through the title, i have tried it with no effect. Just doesnt let me edit title.
|
After you have changed the title, have you clicked post thread?
|

My thread shows Morbid Blue/Black 4.0.3. Even though within the Modification i have edited it to 4.0.4. It's not saving the new Title. |
Please report the post and request the title to be changed.
PS It is better to make it 4.0.x as that wouldn't require a change for each version update in the title. |
Thnx. i did report post. but was hopin the edit issue was addressed. Not sure if u guys recvd this complaint before but if there is not limit to title edit then it obviously is a bug.
cheers |
Hi Marco, have you had any response from the 'powers that be', it would be incredibly helpful if the upload limit were raised.
|
AFIAIK there are no plans to change this on a server level ATM.
|
Is this IB's attitude or vb.org's attitude?
|
The servers are maintained by IB.
|
I thought so, thank you for your help Marco. :)
