I want to put the code for "Google Custom Search" in the navbar beside the search textbox. Can you please help me with that?

I am unaware of a way to do this easily. The only thing I could suggest would be a navbar menu or tab (see the Articles area on how to make these).

Personally, I'd love it if the old mod that integrated Google search was updated for vb4.

theres a mod for this. I have in my forum, you just need to look for it.

I beleive you are mistaken. You're probably thinking about the mod that the OP specifically told you they weren't interested in - check the link that was given. Or you're thinking about pre-vb4 versions.

He can just copy the code and place it beside the vbulletin search in the navbar.

I placed the code after:

{vb:raw template_hook.navtab_end}

and it appears beside:
