Could not post to Hatchery?
I Posted this https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...wpost&t=239455
But it would have been more useful in the Hatchery? |
From The Hatchery Policy

Ok, so what defines you as a Coder or Designer ?
Thanks! |
The release of work.

I think what Marco is trying to say is that you put your mod in the wrong place. If it's ready to go, it should be in vBulletin 4.0 Add-ons . I think posting a mod there will automatically get you 'coder' status.
|
No, it doesn't.
You need to either release a large product or do lots of small work to get coder status |

Contributor is by contributing hacks/styles. After contributing so many hacks or styles, you'll get the status of coder, designer or coder/designer
|
Those aren't particularly helpful answers, though they may be about as accurate as mine. I'm sure it's codified here somewhere, but unless someone like Marco is willing to answer the question with a link to the specific criteria, we may never find it on our own.
The reason I answered as I did is that I swear I've seen noobs here that have released odd little template edits and are now labeled as 'coders'. So I just assumed it was automatic. But perhaps they really do have a fixed set of criteria and regular meetings to analyze if those criteria have been met. |
Everyone who releases work gets a calculated release level (hover over your title to see it). RL1 = Contributor, RL2+ = Designer/Coder. The RL value is worked out from many factors.
|
I think the RL depends upon the number of installs. Nobody seems to have installed my style even though there were a few downloads. :(
Let me release a few template edits and see if that helps. :P |
Release level is factored on installs, and you get Coder if you release Add Ons, and Designer if you release Skins/template mods. You get both (like me) if you've released both skins and add ons.
