Don't Track Staff IP's
1 Attachment(s)
This is a pretty simple mod, it was a request in the paid addons section but some people bailed on the person requesting it. So I coded it and decided to release it for free for everyone.
All the addon does is stop logging ip addresses for users in the defined usergroups for posts/threads. In theory it should carry over to the blogs also if ip's are tracked there. Things it doesn't do: Stop logging IP's in the admincp Remove old IP addresses from the database. Things it does do: Stops logging ip addresses for current users in the list To configure which groups don't get logged: Settings > Options > Message Posting and Editing Options > Which usergroups should we not store IP's for? |
This could be interesting but I prefer if there is an option to stop logging IP's of individual user instead of entire user group. I believe many people would agree with me. Can you provide this option?

does this work on vb3.8?

Hi i like this hack and it doesn't show on posts but it still does show if you go to who's online page... is der any way it can hide from who's online list too beside taking viewing who is online power from other usergroups?
thanks |
Bad idea... why ?
If someone hack/phishes the staffs account, you will never know who it was. |

Hello, i have a problem. Although i have selected not to store ip's for admins and mods, it doesn't store for members too and i haven't make that choise. Any help?
|
It should only stop groups 5 6 and 7 by default. Did you enter more usergroups into the field?
|
yes. but i didn't enter registered member's uergroup id.
|
Did you enter any usergroup id's that those users would be a part of?
|
No. I have the defaults (5,6,7) and two more, that doesn't effect registered users by any way.
|
This addon doesn't change anything but what it changes and would have no reason to not track usergroups not entered.
If you disable the addon does it go away? |
Yes if i disable it everythings is ok!
|
No clue how it is happenign the code we use is insanely simple. The only way it could be happening is if they're a part of those usergroups.
|
No it happened to all usergroups despite the fact if the usergroup is entered on the list. The users that have no secondary group and their primary isn't at the list still their ip is not visible. Is it possible that any other modification made this mess?
