This isn't working for me.
I've uploaded the includes folder and imported the .xml file. I couldn't see anything for it in Settings, so I looked at the Usergroup permissions, on Attachment Permissions Can View Who Downloaded is set to Yes. Is there anything else I need to do, as theirs no option for me to view who has downloaded as shown in the screenshots. |

Hack fixed and it now works.

I have uploaded the appropriate files in the file system, imported plugin but doesn't work for me. The version is 4.0.3 PL1. I cannot see the button nor any settings inside the vBulletin options.
Any help please? BTW, i have uploaded a new attachment and downloaded after the plugin installation, in order to check, and not any previous attachment. |
Can this be made to work for photos that have been uploaded via the attachment manager and then displayed in posts as thumbnails?
|
Gave it a shot. It didn't have I was looking for. Still a good mod though.

Well, I installed this and it didnt work. Only through the comments of others, some saying it worked, others saying no, that I thought I would persevere.
I read carefully the install instructions: "Please upload the files from under the "upload" directory in the archive into your vBulletin installation directory." Hmm. Not very helpful, because there is actually a lot more to do and to understand. With a bit of playing and fooling around in the admin control panel, I found a new option in "Usergroup Manager" / EDIT / Attachment Permissions. Here you can set which usergroups can see and use this plugin. Somewhere, don't remember where or how, there was also a bitfields update, and then it all worked! Bingo! Note that by default, it doesnt work and nobody and see/use the function. You need to enable it by usergroup first. Also note that there is no WHO information for any files downloaded before the plugin was installed. Psionic, this BRILLIANT plugin, but really, your install instructions need a major overhaul. :up: (Maybe your instructions in previous versions were better, but do remember that some people like myself are installing this plugin on 4.x for the first time!) INSTALLED, RECOMMENDED, AND NOMINATED. Request I would like to have a WHEN, not just a WHO. This is critical for any formal system of record. When did the person do it? Please update! Much much appreciated WHEN (LOL) you do. |
grrrrr, can't get this to work on 4.0.6 :(

I only see the option in the usergroup permissions to allow per group. Is there another area in the admin CP that I'm missing because I cannot see anything else. I don't see the who downloaded text near the attachment either. Strange one :( |
dear Psionic Vision can you say something about problems ?
|

Hi in french en fran?ais ;)

Working on 4.07 with this proviso (as mentioned by Dr. OSama);
Install the product twice - allow overwrite the 2nd time. Go to the Usergroup you want to allow permission to use this add-on and find the section called Attachment Permissions. In this section at the bottom you will see Can View Who Downloaded *IMPORTANT* If already set to Yes (by default groups 5, 6 & 7 are) then change it to No and then click UPDATE at the bottom of the page. When the list of groups then re-appears then select the same group again and then change it back to YES and update again. Attach a file to a post and save and then refresh your browser (F5 or ALT F5). Download the attachment and then do another refresh and then you can see the magic. It does work but is a pain in the ass to get working. Hope this helps. |
Thanks starman for clarifying the how-to-make-the-install-work. I had the same issue. Finally got it working after a similar experience.
[s]This mod would score 100% if it also included WHEN not just WHO downloaded[/s] Oh my goodness. I've been asking for the WHEN feature not just WHO, but it seems that it has been there all the time! How did I miss it? Turns out that the popupbox is too small in Chrome, and you need to maximise/scroll to the RHS to see the date-stamp. Perhaps this can be fixed in the future. |
