quiz mode for 4
 

Any simple quiz mode for VB 4.0
I ma looking for simple quiz, where i can store question and select to be randomly displayed on forums and score each question.

i'm looking for this feature also...

There was inferno quiz a few years ago, but it died a death. Shame really.

Theres a couple of other mods need to be finished up first, but should be the next 4-8 weeks.

=P Just a note that it's rare we check these threads. DBTech is the best place to get updates on our mods, vbquiz has been discussed a few times in the blogs etc lately, the private beta is due for release in the next 7 days =)

Development was (obviously) pushed back in favour of other mods/updates requested by customers.

Just letting you guys know there is a pro version for vB4 on DragonByte Tech. vb 3.x and Lite versions for vbulletin.org will be coming in the next few days to a week =)

It figures you'd do a paid version before you did a free version. What a rip-off.

=) Not sure how creating a product and releasing a version of it for free is a rip off to be honest. Still, each to his own I guess.

I see you are a coder - is there a reason you haven't created an advanced Quiz system and released it for free yet?

Seems rather hypocritical to attack someone for being paid for their work and time, when you yourself haven't put in the same work/time to create that product - presumably because you have a job which you get paid at =).

Since you are a coder and see this as such a rip-off, I look forward to seeing the competing quiz mod you create ;)

Sorry, I don't release stripped down versions of mods to entice people to pay for extra options. And, no, I do not have a job as I am a disabled veteran.

I suppose we could have not released a stripped down version in the first place, though I'm not sure how that would benefit the community.

Unfortunately we have to release full (paid) versions as we are making a living off of vBulletin coding, so releasing everything we create for free is sadly not an option.

I am sure that you were paid for your time in the forces (and i would hope you have a pension now) - and that you understand that most people do work for a wage. That is what our programmers do - work for a wage.

As i said before, as a coder yourself I fail to understand why you have not created your own quiz mod. If you think people are being "ripped off" why not take the time to create one for them =)

Otherwise you are criticizing people for doing something that you yourself would not take the time to do, which strikes me as being rather low.

No, what is low is doing the bait-and-hook scheme like you seem to do with all of your mods. And I really have no use for a quiz mod so I have no reason to code one. But if I did, it would be like every other mod I have ever released here, for free.

But this isn't going to get us anywhere , so I digress.

The vast majority of people are glad that we release free versions of our modifications. If a lot of our customers disliked it, we would stop doing it. I'm pretty sure the people in this thread would prefer to have a free version released by us, instead of the absolutely nothing you think we should be offering.

If you have no need for a quiz mod, then why come in here and complain about us releasing one? If your aim is just to troll people for daring to make a living vbulletin.org isn't the place to do it.

If you think people should have a quiz mod with no pro version then make and release one, otherwise please troll elsewhere.

Nice mod Iain, bought and much appreciated.

My complaint is not the quiz mod, it is baiting people to buy a mod to get more options. Why not just release a full pro version of the mod for free? I'm sure that would get you many more accolades from everyone is this thread. You still have all of your other mods to make money with.

I think you overestimate how much money we make =)

We do release full "pro" versions of our smaller mods for free.

By all means if you or someone else wants to pay the coders wages we will release our modifications for free.

Unfortunately most people have to work for a living, and that includes us.

I'm sure you will receive just as many accolades if/when you bother to code one, instead of just criticizing people who do. I do wonder why you are even in this thread if you do not want a quiz modification though.

Perhaps more time spent coding and less time trolling would let you fulfill your goal of giving vb.org lots of high quality free modifications =)

If you don't have anything to contribute actually relating to the subject (perhaps a quiz mod?) then I would appreciate you posting the off-topic stuff elsewhere. This will be our last reply to you, since it is obvious you are here only to troll.

I would love to see the demonstration for this mod. I wouldn't mind to pay a few bucks for it.
