Info:
Add a Preview to the PM Inbox making it easier to manage your Private Messages

Main Features:
- One step installation (no file uploads, no manual template modifications required)
- Option to enable/disable the Preview
- Preview Character Length can be altered by Admin.

Installation:
-Import XML file (as product): AdminCP > Plugin System > Manage Products > [Add/Import Product]

To set options:
Go to: AdminCP > vBulletin Options > PM Preview

Versions:
v0.1 - Feb 21, 2010 - First Version.
v0.2 - Feb 21, 2010 - Second Version: Fixed a Bug with the settings.

This is something I've been looking for.

I've installed it, however.....

I can't find it in the vBulletin Options list anywhere, i've double checked and triple checked.

Glad it's a mod you'll find useful, just noticed the settings bug when I tried installing it on another board that wasn't my test one, the settings don't seem to have exported correctly.. I'm trying to fix that now and will have a new release soon.

Now Fixed..

and for any developers starting out with vb4 mods, you need to set the setting to "vbulletin default" otherwise they won't export (don't ask me why..)

I'm glad you are all enjoying this mod, it did amaze me that it wasn't made as a default part of the vB4 series.

I'm looking at adding the following features to the next version.

+ Enable/Disable via User CP
+ User can select inline or popup display
+ Custom Preview styling (not sure about this one but it's been suggested)

Any other suggestions?!

The GTPrivate Message Preview works fine on vB 3.8 and its made for 3.6 ;)

Just wanted to report a bug though...


When sending a long url, the url in the preview scrolls far off screen (a way past the border). See attached screenshot.

This developer has not be online since August 2010. Which is also when this modification was released. So I do not see anyone adding an update.

However, you are in luck. Someone else has released a modification that does the same thing.... And it does work on 4.1.8

I have been using this with no issues until I upgraded to 4.1.10

The preview of messages now starts with the word array on every preview.

I have had to uninstall it. A big shame.

I am using this on 4.1.10 and it is working fine just like it did on 4.1.8 before I upgraded. You might want to try uninstalling and reinstalling it to make sure first.

Many thanks Boofo, I just installed it again.
Then deleted Firefoxs history and files etc.
Then restarted Firefox and did a ctrl and F5 but I still have the same problem.

It is a very disappointing as it was really useful.

Then the next step is to find out which mod might be messing with it. Disable your mods and add them back, one at a time, until you find the culprit.

Check to make sure the template edits are correct. Do you have a custom style?

OK, now you are going to lose me.

I have only changed the colours and basic things like that.
What template edits are we talking about?

Are you using a custom style or the default?
