Vb 4 Costum link in postbit

About :
Someone requested it in the wrong forum
should have been in mod requests, but anyway here it is

by default it links to "my albums" in vbulletin.

Change link's etc as you want in admincp->vbulletin->options
find it on the dropdown list.

Features :
- Possible to add userID's at the end of the links
usefull for linking to users own stuff on vbulletin

Costum is not correct. Custom is the correct spelling. :)

why it works fine.
if link disappeared while updateing, just reimport the existing product, and overwrite..
recheck settings.

i'm wondering about this hack: runs with the horizontal postbit?

We can add an image in the tittle?

thats a costum template, something is missing..
thats the problem, is your hook locations inplace..
if you look in the code you see this mod uses
hook : postbit_userinfo_right_after_posts

which is present by default,
unfortunally i cant select another theme/style on your site so cant tell
if its there or not.

Can't quite get it to do what we need for our Classifieds ads ...

What would it cost to have it modified so we could have the link always add the user ID after the letter u, then put a single dash - in, followed by .html

Example:

http://www.xxxxx.com/pp-classifieds/u2-.html

The 2 is the variable in this case ...

It's always the same format and takes the user who clicks the link to a page that shows all of that userid member ads.

Uninstalled standard version and imported custom version ...

I wasn't sure what to put as settings, so I left "enable userid at end" OFF and I put this in as the link:

http://www.xxxx.com/pp-classifieds/

I now get this as a link output when I view the link at the postbit_legacy display.

http://www.xxxx.com/pp-classifieds/-.html

So, I turned "enable userid at end" ON and I get this as a link output when I view the link at the postbit_legacy display.

http://www.xxxx.com/pp-classifieds/.$post[userid].-.html

It's close, so all I need now is to get the actual userid of the member from his postbit and plug it in front of the DASH ie: http://www.xxxx.com/pp-classifieds/userid-.html

and ofcourse always enable when using this special edition.

It put the member's postbit userid after the letter "u" and added the "-.html" just fine ....

Now when a member clicks on another member's link, it takes them to ALL classified ads that have been placed by that member.

Edit: Is there a way to have it open a NEW page for the link instead of just using the existing page ? Maybe add an option?

just overwrite existing installation, by putting checkmark in allow overwrite.

This link I created is a custom search on my forum, searching threads posted by user with a certain prefix.

Would it be possible for me to add code that would display the quantity of those threads next to the custom link?

I'd love to show the quantity, maybe only calculating once per day, next to the "My Trip Reports" link.

Vaupell, is possible to hide the link when the user dont have nothing to show?
For example, about the albums, If a user dont have any, the link will not appear...
Is difficult to make that? :)

Installed on 4.1.10 and working very well. I am trying to tweak this a bit so it will count albums. Any suggestions?

very good, its possible to put something like $username or something on custom link ? because i need that without id but in username.. like $bbuserinfo[username]

Would it be possible for us to choose the link inserted? For example I want to add a link for members to just enter their username from another site and then have that link appear on the posts.

So my link would be something like say... www.website.com/profile/USERNAME

I would enter " www.website.com/profile/" and when they fill in the USERNAME part it would add it to the link OR - they have to have the same username on the website as the forum so even if it just obtained their username automatically that would be great :)
