Vb 4 Forum block - Last files added via downloads II
released on 11-feb-2010

About :
Easy to use, just import product xml and add to your layout.
shows the latest files added to downloads II, settins in admincp

know it says 0.5 but didnt manage to make 1.0 before finished :p
just live with it, until upgrade if needed.

Need to know before use :
The forumblocks are cache'd meaning data is stored,
i have preset this one to 5 minuttes, you can change cache timer
in Admincp > forums and moderators > forumblocks manager.

Installation instructions :
1) Import the product,
2) Set settings in adminCP

Uninstallation instructions :
1) uninstall the product as any other.

Plans for furture upgrades + bug's found :
- Usergroup acces.
- Option to display category id
- no futher plans, got some idea's ? post them

Issues :
Problem where it displays a code error instead of the block..
Requires a manual edit to database for it to work.
instructions (using phpmyadmin):

In the settings, just blank out the date format, so its empty.
then it wont post date

this no longer works.

I installed the widget, checked the settings, and then went to forum blocks and it was not listed to be added.

Alright, so it is listed as a widget in the CMS. So this plugin is poorly organized. It is a CMS widget, not a forum block.

I use a similar widget and it stopped working with 6.0.5.
I reinstalled 6.0.4 and it is working again.

I use it with 6.0.5 so far no problems but the latest added files in the block can only have 10cheracters???

Check settings..

You can set how many characters is shown,
some sites (narrow) need low number of chars shown while sites
with wide design can use whole title name..

Admincp -> settings -> find the block in dropdown on right.

Have a problem

I installed this and put the block on my forum. Unfortunately, it does not show downloads but shows new posts instead... not sure what happened there.

any ideas?

Anyway does is still marked for working in version 4.0.1 it have not
been updated for later version.. And if you havent had it preinstalled
before upgradeing to 4.0.7 then it wont work.

problem is vb changed the block type structure in the database dureing one
of the upgrades.. which causes it not to match anymore..

there is a "manual way to fix this issue"
but its a database edit...

instructions (using phpmyadmin):

Great addon but not working in 4.1.3. I tried the manual DB change but it still displays error code above the forum header.

hi!

There is a bug in the widget! When I open my forum in an iphone, ipad or any other computer with a small screen the widget is not displayed correctly. The problem also exists in the demo forum you mention.

Please help us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I get this at the top of my page every time.

I uninstalled this, but still have errors.

How to fix?

Never mind.....I forgot to delete the block. Doh!
