Members who have visited today (Widget)

This modification is no longer available or supported.

This modification installs a widget to display Members who have visited today.
This is a cut down version of the full display, it has no options such as collapse, 24 hour etc. As per the main feature, this cannot count or display guests, it is members only.

Note: I produced this mainly just as an experiment in creating widgets. There are no options in this, nor is it my intention to add any - if you want the full functionallity then use the full core feature (or the sideblock version). Also, given that it will display all names, I would not advise using this if you get hundreds of members per day.

The basic features are as follows ;

1. Invisible users are only displayed to those allowed to see them (with a "*")
2. Users who should display as coloured or bold etc will be displayed correctly (based on the display usergroup).
3. If you 'hover' over a username it will show the time they were last active.

Please note that caching may mean this display is slightly behind realtime (not really checked on this).

To install - just unzip the XML and import into vB using the ACP Product Manager. You will then need to go into the Layout manager and add the widget to your CMS display in the normal manner.

Works great, just what I was after, thanks for writing it.

Nice to see you've done it via the proper channels as well. Rather than making forum owners edit the widget directly. Via the import product is great. Thanks.

Anyone who wants to see it working can visit my site http://www.microlightforum.com

I have no idea, since I dont have FF 2, nor will I ever. Its usage rate is about 0.25%.

Unfortunately did not help its use FF3... :(

Paul M 02-03-2010 11:05 AM

It works fine in FF 3.5, I dont have any other version.

Also "not worked" is meaningless, you must explain what your issue actually is.

RedHacker 02-03-2010 06:30 PM

Not display....

Paul M 02-03-2010 10:32 PM

Have you actually read the instructions ?

Charlie98902 02-03-2010 11:53 PM

Works well thanks.

I get the same, what did I do wrong?

Paul M 02-15-2010 08:36 AM

I have no idea - do you have the CMS installed ?

Aislinn 02-19-2010 05:28 PM

Anyway of putting this on the forum page instead of the home page :)

Paul M 02-19-2010 09:37 PM

Widgets only go in the CMS, not any other pages.

-=Leb=- 03-16-2010 10:24 PM

thx paul for your great plugins <3

customcolor 03-20-2010 07:20 PM

installed and works great in vb 4+

karlm 03-31-2010 02:07 PM

Great stuff Mr. M.
Could you assist me with one minor detail though, perhaps? I'd like to remove the numerical value so an actual number isn't displayed in the wigdet's top bar. I had a quick scoot through the code, but being a non-coder myself, it's all gibberish to me.

Paul M 03-31-2010 03:58 PM

Edit the phrase wvtw_visited_today

karlm 03-31-2010 07:10 PM

Thanking you kindly, Sir... Job's a done!

Juggernaut 12-02-2010 10:35 PM

Would really like to see this widget updated for vBulletin 4.1 :D

Paul M 12-02-2010 10:44 PM

You will, all in good time.

Juggernaut 12-04-2010 10:04 PM

I love it, but the widget doesn't have the white background all my other widgets have, so some usernames are unreadable as it is right now.

Paul M 12-04-2010 10:09 PM

Indeed, that would seem to be a change (probably in 4.1) I hadnt noticed.

Re-download and install it.

Juggernaut 12-04-2010 10:31 PM

It is now perfect. Thank you very much Paul :D

PhilUK 02-05-2011 12:29 PM

Where is the ACP Product Manager?

Paul M 02-05-2011 03:46 PM

In the ACP :)

(Admin Control Panel).

Maxi62 03-02-2011 09:35 AM

Hi,
good widget!
Can you still install option:
Can you list how many guests were online today?

Paul M 03-02-2011 10:32 AM

Nope, there is no widget for Guests.

Maxi62 03-02-2011 04:03 PM

I mean you should list how many guests on the day were online! That would be very interesting!

K4GAP 09-10-2011 08:29 PM

Has anyone gotten this to work with 4.1.5 ?

Paul M 09-11-2011 10:04 AM

Yes. I have it working on my 415 test forum.

As described in the installation? Or, did you have to change anything to get it to work?

Angle4cor 09-11-2011 07:39 PM

I cant install this widget. When I import the .xml file to ACP I've get this: "vbcms product must be installed".

I have only vB Forum license. How to install it without vBCMS?

Not changed anything, simply installed it, and added it to the layout.

Widgets are part of the CMS, so you cant install it unless you have the CMS, it would make no sense.
