Downgrade from vb4 to vb3?

Is it possible to downgrade from vB4 and keep all the users, threads and posts?

Yes, by restoring the backups you made before upgrading.

We've always been on vB4. We've never upgraded.

I found a way by coverting to IPB 3.05, then use Impex to convert to 3.84, you need the IPB converter modified version for VB 4, which I have but don't think I'm allowed to post it here.

Then you cannot go 'backwards'. vB4.0.2 should be out soon and it should fix a bunch of current issues.

Then I'm wondering why you want to go back? vb3 is no longer in development. What are you trying to do? Is there a function lacking for you in vb4?

Well, let's have a look:

A. There's no good modifications
B. Places like vBskinworks haven't upgraded their skins
C. My license is only set for 3.x and is running out soon.

Download the 3.8 files and upload them over the vB4 files.

Uninstall the blog and CMS products

Don't forget, the DB he currently uses is setup for vB 4.xx and may not work with older versions of vB 3.xx software.

I have case same case too...

4.0.1 PS is my only Forum and never use 3.8 version before.....

Already think to Downgrade to 3.8.4
because i love 3.8 Skin provided by 3th party especially its Fixed style :)

All you guys need to do is wait a little more. 4.0 has only been out just over a month. You have to give the designers time to go though all the edits that have to be done to create a new style or skin. I think most are waiting for the new version to come out.

I would think your users would be more interested in the way a forum is functioning over the 'looks' of it. If you tried the 3.x version, I'm sure you'll be coming back to the 4.x anyway.

You cannot run a 4.0 database with 3.8 files. You WILL get database errors.
