Daily Game posts a new flash game to your vBulletin once per day in a new thread. Daily Game will help your forum by:

• Starting up conversations on slow days
• Increasing retention since users are playing on your forum
• Help you get links and improve SEO (flash games get a lot of links!)
• Make you money! Use your own ad code to display an ad while the flash game is loading. These pre-roll ads get very high eCPM!

Installation instructions

1. Upload add_daily_game.php to the vBulletin root directory
2. Import the product XML file (Plugins & Products -> Manage Products - > [Add/Import Product])
3. Configure the Daily Game settings under vBulletin Options -> vBulletin Options -> Daily Game:
   • Set ?Enabled? to Yes
   • Visit www.playedonline.com/register_vbulletin to register (input your forum's url and your email) and get a shared key for authentication
   • Configure which userid will post the daily games (input 0 for guest)
   • Choose a forum for Daily Game
   • Customise the title (useful for non-English forums) or leave blank for default
   • Enable or disable description and instructions
   • Paste ad code (e.g. AdSense) to show a pre-roll ad before the game starts (optional, leave empty to show no ads)
   • Click the Test link you got in the registration e-mail to post a test daily game (you can delete the test post after you verify that it works)
   • You're done! A daily game will be posted on your forum every day at 3am EST.

It looks interesting but is it reliable as im not sure about it posting into forums like that

Each forum gets a secret key that makes sure only the Daily Game service can post new games, so it's pretty safe

I have downloaded and installed this game but the daily game is not showing up on my forum. I put the secret code in, and i clicked the link in the email to have the test game show up on my forum and that game is not there.

Any suggestions?

You want us to put this mod on our site that is going to load a ad before the game starts.

So we have to display a ad, a copyright to your site and the game comes from yougame.com

I can just post the games from yougame.com on my site if I like. I started to like this mod but I do not run ads on my site my self I will not let some mod run ads on my site.

:( I can deal with the copyright but not the advertisement. This is the third modification for vB 4.0 that has had a advertisement or affiliate program hidden in the code.

We do not run advertising on our site, and this mod "appears" to be serving 3rd party scripts/advertising. Yet doesnt acknowledge it uses external content.

Shame

Let me clear a few of the copyright/advertising issues raised:

1. The ad which appears before the game loads is not ours and is completely optional. It's simply a feature that let's you display your own ads (adsense or other) while the game is loading. If you don't wish to display ads simply don't input any ad code and no ads will be displayed.

2. The games we are distributing via the service are all freeware or games that we have licensed for this purpose. Freeware games typically contain credits and sponsor messages which is how their developers make money.

For those who are having issues with the installation, we'll be troubleshooting them with you individually shortly.

This would be much nicer if we could integrate it with our own score keeping tools found in either of the other two arcade scripts for vb.

I can vouch for this in a way.
I know that mochi games display a mochi ad as thats their business model.
All of their games do that and its the price you pay for using their games.
This mod allows YOU the forum admin to add in ADDITIONAL ads of your own choosing in order to make yourself some extra revenue.

Its pretty ingenious of the creator of this mod.

I did everything as its instructed... didnt work, no test game shows up.
Furthermore, when i hit "save" in the option screen... the field to input the username gets reset to 0 every time. Is that normal?

Well how long does it take for a game to post to the forums because its been 24 hours and nothing posted yet

messengermatt, carubmun - Did the test game show in your forum? There is probably a problem with the config and one or more of the steps are not complete. If you need help feel free to PM us and we will try to assist

Installed and tested, works fine for me.

There is a problem with post title configuration, I set this "Game of the Day [DATE] : [GAME NAME]" and the game posted with "Game of the Day [DATE] : [GAME NAME]" date and game name has not replaced.

The "forum.php" part is not needed, I'll change it manually
