Very nice themes :)

daveaite 01-23-2010 03:50 PM

Thanks,

To install:
1. Upload specific whirlwind folder to images directory
2. Install WhirlWind.xml included
3. Done.

ozpinkpanther 01-24-2010 10:51 PM

CMS is not working as it should be, the left side is taking up to 70% of the screen, the main content (center) is to the right and the right is missing !! this is on the default 3 columns layout.

daveaite 01-24-2010 11:31 PM

Works perfectly on my test site with CMS.

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2010/01/18.png

Can't show my test site since it doesnt have a valid license.

What style are you attempting to install? Theres 6.

ozpinkpanther 01-25-2010 12:04 AM

I am trying the Aggressive Whirlwind, it works fine with the forum and blog (love it), but the CMS is just not working at all !! I tried changing the layout, creating a new 3 columns layout (25 50 25), nothing works !!

ozpinkpanther 01-25-2010 12:07 AM

I also tried the Mysterious..

Check your PM

daveaite 01-25-2010 12:23 AM

Hm, I'll reupload it and see if it works. No one else has said anything

Ok try aggressive whirlwind again.

ozpinkpanther 01-25-2010 12:45 AM

No go, still the same problem. As my VB is 4.0 I am upgrading to 4.01 to see if it will fix this issue, will let you know.

daveaite 01-25-2010 12:46 AM

Thats the reason. lol.. Make sure you disabled all your plugins including CMS when upgrading!

ozpinkpanther 01-25-2010 01:13 AM

Done exactly as you said, upgraded, enable CMS and blog, still the same issue !!

Great looking themes! Is there any reason they won't apply to the cms? If I choose a different theme it changes forums and blogs, but not CMS. Am I missing something?

Edit: Now the theme shows on CMS - but as someone posted above, it grows my left column tremendously, to about 70% of the screen.

I've seen this symtom occur on my forums at times. Not sure what causes it. I think its a vbulletin glitch.

Try this .xml out. See attached

Ok, I've duplicated what happened. No clue how to fix it. Wierd how that happens. (Doesn't happen on all forums)

Edit: I believe I think this only occurs with forums that upgrade from 3.8 versions. On clean installations of vbulletin 4.0 this doesn't occur. Fixing the issue between 3.8 > 4.0 is the question. Perhaps someone should post this on vbulletin.com forums for support and post a link here to it so I can see.

EcoCav 01-26-2010 07:51 AM

I have tried each one of your skins listed above, and all that changes is the banner. Everything else is the same.

My site is also a 3.8 upgrade to 4.0

daveaite 01-26-2010 08:31 PM

That means your placing the images folder in the wrong directory. Are you using just forums in you vb installation?

maamon 01-27-2010 12:21 AM

Very nice themes

Sorry I haven't been able to respond to your questions. I've designed up http://stylevars.com interface. Please refer any specific theme changes and make the necessary changes.

Im installing the images to the right location, if not the banner image wouldn't work ;). logo.png works just fine, but nothing else on the forum shows up. There are no red X's to show a missing image or misplaced image.

The forum looks just like the standard VB forum, with only the logo image changed. The colors are all the same. I think its an issue with VB and not your skin as I can't get any skins to work now, same issue with everyone i try and add. Even if I make my own.

daveaite 02-01-2010 12:03 AM

The banner is connected to the forum using a full length url :

example: http://stylevars/images/logo.png

All the rest of the images are connected to the forum using a relative path
example: url(/images/repeat1.png)

make sense, thats why your logo will always show but your images may not. Just a function of vbulletin. Thats how I know you placed the images folder in the wrong place.

EcoCav 02-01-2010 12:16 AM

Images are placed in - /forum/images/blackwhirlwind
Also placed each image one by one in /forum/images just to be sure.

Should the images be placed in another directory? The read me says "Upload the contents of the folder "upload" into their respective folders" The upload folder was named "images" so I assume thats the folder they would go in.

myke2008 02-01-2010 11:26 AM

It must be due to the fact that your vbulletin files are in the /forums directory, mine are not. they are just in the root, there is no "forums" directory. You will probably need to add the word forums in all the image paths or something.

daveaite 02-01-2010 12:40 PM

Nah, I have installed this perfectly on a Suite version and just a forum version. Make sure you copied the folder mysterious whirlwind into your images folder.

All the demos are on a Forum version only and my test site is a suite version of vBulletin.

derrene 03-06-2010 04:42 PM

nothing

FaiSao_963 03-06-2010 06:22 PM

very nice, thanks

I love the color schemes and would use everyone of them but I am having an issue with my subforums showing up.

Everyone of these that I install does the same thing.

Please advise...

daveaite 03-11-2010 04:44 PM

May I get a link to your domain?

Rckcrwlr 03-11-2010 05:08 PM

<a href="http://www.networkhobbies.com" target="_blank">www.networkhobbies.com</a>

Right now I have Green and Aggressive active. Green Is OK but I need to get rid of all "pink" colors... Aggressive is the main problem.

daveaite 03-11-2010 09:44 PM

Ah, I see what your saying. Do you have some custom mod installed? Compare your theme to the demos because your installation seems to vary alot esp. when it comes to the forum.

I have disabled all the hacks and it still does it.

Can you tell me what to change to make it work? In the Burgandy, I would make the background white. On the green I would get rid of the pink. I am guessing that the lettering is black, that is why I can't see it.

Any help would be appreciated.

daveaite 03-11-2010 10:28 PM

An installation of this theme would look like this:

http://forum-skins.com/forum/?styleid=19

However. Your running vb4.0.2, I haven't ported this theme yet from 4.0.1. I'll try to do it tonight. That may be the problem (unlikely though) We'll see

Rckcrwlr 03-11-2010 11:39 PM

This has been my format from inception...

How do I get mine to look like that... Hmmm.

daveaite 03-12-2010 05:57 AM

All demos and the BP Network is currently down as we are switching from shared servers to a dedicated server. Please excuse any downtime and delayed updates on themes.

I'm getting this exact same problem.

When I used to install skins on my forum when it was 3.8.4 the skin would come with tons of stuff, this skin (aggressive whirlwind) comes with only about five images, is this right?

I've put them inside forum/images/aggressivewhirlwind but all I get is that little banner & nothing else.

Just to add more to my above post, I've upgraded from 3.8.4 PL2 to 4.0.2 PL4.

All I get is the banner appear & nothing else. I'm using just the forum.

Any ideas?
