List Reported Items

As of 23 Nov 2017 this modification has been withdrawn.

This is something we have been using for the last few years on Cable Forum, it displays a list of reported posts and reported private messages - for both staff and members to see.

The list shows ;

Reported Date/Time
Reporter (Staff Only)
Thread Title
Post Number
Actioned Date/Time
Moderator Who Actioned.

Warning: For this system to work you must have vbulletin set-up to create a new thread for each report. Installing this will disable the e-mail reporting, so until you have a report forum set, reporting will be disabled.

On the reported posts page members can click on the Actioned Moderator name to see any comment left by the moderator.

A report is considered as actioned by the first staff member to reply in the report thread. The comments are read from that first post (by default it reads anything inside quote tags).

Staff can click on the reporter to be taken directly to the report thread.

Staff Usergroups are defined in the mods settings - also the number of days to show reports for is defined in the settings.

If enabled, this will also add a link to your Quick Links or Community Links. There is also an option to prefix the link path if you use something like CMPS.

This will only list reported posts and private message's.

Thanks ill install this later :)

blake247 01-15-2010 09:30 PM

Thanks for the mod. Installed.

murratti 01-15-2010 10:41 PM

installed but Link is not work correct...mod make link like that http://www.domain.com/vbulletin/show...44#post4442344

but correct link must be like this http://www.domain.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?59082&p=4441779#post4441779

For this reason when u clikc the link, it goes only first post, not the reported post

Paul M 01-15-2010 10:50 PM

It goes to the correct post for me in both FF and IE.

What exactly is 5908 ?

murratti 01-15-2010 11:45 PM

i think its a thread id...vbulletin own report post system create that kind of link....and its work on my forum..

AzzidReign 01-15-2010 11:51 PM

Wow, this is great. I own a big board so we get tons of reported posts and this looks like it will make things much easier!

Thanks.

Paul M 01-15-2010 11:52 PM

I think what you mean is it doesnt create seo links, which is true, something I can alter for v4.0.2

tafreeh 01-16-2010 02:59 AM

Woahh guess what.. there is no option exist to report post in postbit :@

Reporting it to vb.com

Paul M 01-16-2010 09:22 AM

Are you set up correctly ? - in vb4 if you have report to e-mail turned off, and dont have create thread enabled, then reporting is disabled.

tafreeh 01-17-2010 04:32 AM

Thanks paul.. it makes sense... if both options are turned off, where reported post would go :)
enabling email moderator solves the issue.

ToNetU 01-17-2010 04:38 AM

is it possible to send a notify/pm to the moderators? so they can know that there is a reported post!

and how can i make the reported post list between the reporter and moderators? so it will list the reposters that he/she sent and our actioned.

thanks Paul.

meschiash 01-17-2010 11:08 AM

Mod installed on vB 4.0.1, and after reporting post does not appear in the list of reported posts. What could be wrong?

enabling email moderator solves the issue.

To make this modification work, you MUST have reporting set to create a new thread in a specified reported posts forum, doing this removes the need to enable emailing. Are you sure you set this up correctly ?

Nope, nor is it necessary, they can see them both in the specified forum, or by viewing this list.

meschiash 01-18-2010 07:52 AM

Paul M 01-18-2010 10:19 AM

Sorry, I dont understand what you just said.

meschiash 01-18-2010 11:12 AM

In the ITEM has no link to the reported post.

Paul M 01-18-2010 12:09 PM

Please provide a screenshot showing what you mean.

cnutter 01-18-2010 05:06 PM

Paul can you give a basic run down on how to setup your product. IE How to set it up properly?

More to the point is were to find the setup for vbulletin to create a thread for each report.

Never mind I'm retarded and need sleep.

Alfa1 01-18-2010 05:22 PM

I use this modification: Auto-solve report threads to solve reported posts. This means that solved reports are in a separate forum. Can I use the 'list reported items' modification with this?

Paul M 01-18-2010 07:31 PM

It will not pickup "solved" reports if they are in a different forum.

meschiash 01-19-2010 03:03 PM

Ok. I will try to explain it.

In my picture i have field ITEM. On your picture, you have field POST. At my in box ITEM i don't have link to the reported post. In your's you have a link to the reported post.

http://img11.imageshack.us/img11/8099/reportpost.jpg

Paul M 01-19-2010 08:07 PM

Given that your forum is not English, you have most likely customised the phrases that create the threads (or loaded a language that customizes them). To get the post details, the mod has to extract the information from the first post, in your case it is unable to find what it is looking for.

LCN2007 02-16-2010 02:39 PM

Paul its not listing for me.

I have the forum set permissions set and still empty list.

Could you help me please?

I did try to reinstall and still no help. The product did disable email sending like you saids it would.

Paul M 02-16-2010 03:14 PM

There is nothing i can do for you unless you provide admin access to your forum.

LCN2007 02-16-2010 04:53 PM

PM Sent thank you sir

Paul M 02-16-2010 06:08 PM

Its working fine on your forum.

It will not list old/existing reported posts as they are not the correct format, it will only list reports created after the mod is installed.

LCN2007 02-16-2010 06:27 PM

ok thank you for checking it out sir i appreciate that.

aaronrand 02-18-2010 07:57 PM

Great mod, thank you.
I showed it to my friend who is using VB 3.8, and was asking me if you had a version for 3.8 of this mod?

Paul M 02-19-2010 01:05 AM

Yes, there is a 3.8 version.

Big-K 07-05-2010 02:21 PM

Hi Paul,

In the details pop out box, I will like to show the reason why a post is reported. I have managed to create the row but need the correct syntax for cdata. can you help?

Here's what I have at the moment
Quote:

$cname = 'Reason for reporting';
$cdata = $reportinfo[reason];
$template_post->register('cname',$cname);
$template_post->register('cdata',$cdata);
$reportedpost .= $template_post->render();
I have attached a screenshot of where I'm headed

Also, Is there a way to highlight reported posts in the forum? I know this is beyond the scope of your fantastic product, but just wondering.

Paul M 07-05-2010 05:04 PM

Im afraid its not that simple - you would need to write a function to extract the reason text from the entire post text - somewhat similar to how the rplgetreply() function works - then store that in the array as its built - and finally output it like the other elements.

There is no way to highlight reported posts, but it would not be too hard as every post stores its report threadid, so you just need to see if the post has one.

Thanks Paul. Are these options you may consider for a future release?

Paul M 07-09-2010 01:05 AM

Sorry, Im afraid not.

RobbieZ 07-12-2010 08:35 AM

Would be great if the it appeared in notification to bring the attention of staff that a post has been reported.

ProFifaLeagues 07-19-2010 08:43 AM

Paul how do we set up this correctly so the mod will work A1?

Warning: For this system to work you must have vbulletin set-up to create a new thread for each report. Installing this will disable the e-mail reporting, so until you have a report forum set, reporting will be disabled.

Paul M 07-19-2010 11:16 AM

Exactly as it says - set vb up to create a new thread for each report - in a dedicated forum (in your staff area) is best.

BlackHoster 07-19-2010 02:09 PM

thank you :) i will try to test it and come back to give you the results :D
