Have limited plug-ins installed. I can pass you an admin account if you would like to look around?
|
Hello,
Is possible to intagrate this chat into forumhome? I want install on the bottom main page. Thank you for answer. |
how to connect prochatrooms with vbb
|
|
I am interested in this app if I can use it much like a shoutbox at the top of my forums page. It would need to mirror the account activity of a user, i.e. if they visit the site with a persistent login, they should also automatically be logged into the chat system.
'Am I on the right track? |
Edit: Issue Resolved.
|
Is there a way to move the Who's Chatting into say a widget that can be put on other pages?
|
Just integrated! Thanks...
|
great
|
Quick question, can the chat link be hidden to certain usergroups? So those that do not have access to the chat would not see the link.
Thanks |
Answer to the error posted earlier on the memcached error:
1. Killed Memcached proccess, error persisted. 2. Tested conflicts with hacks, no conflicts 3. Googled deep error results, returned the below nugget: http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showt...l=1#post492846 created new config.php, uploaded, chat works fine. Root Cause: White space in doc. During past VB Upgrades carried over last config.php and never updated file. |
Any way to make the links open in new window ? other then that it installed fine and works perfect
|
@kylek - Yes, it's possible - but apparently overlooked. I've added it to our development to-do list for the next minor update :)
@fishmaster - Glad you got it sorted out! :) @Rafes - Absolutely. You'll find this option in the AddonChat AdminCP menu. It should be enabled by default. Popup links do require JavaScript, and if JavaScript is disabled users will be taken to the embedded page. The link on the main forum page next to the Who's Chatting list does link to the embedded page, but could be edited if you wanted to make it a popup link - I believe the link there is in the Phrases, and the popup link code itself can be found in the Templates. @CrosseyedGamer - Good question. Right now, there is nothing in the plugin that accommodates this out of the box; however it wouldn't be too difficult to use the supplied AddonChat Who's Chatting code in a CMS block. Settings -> Site Integration -> Who's Chatting from your AddonChat control panel . Use the internal frame link method and copy/paste the code where you need it. This isn't recommended for heavy traffic sites, but should work for most. This plugin essentially caches who's chatting data such that users don't have to wait for a web service call to complete - the Who's Chatting link code in your AddonChat control panel is real-time. |
Over the years, ive tried lots of chat apps, including flashchat, irc, wibya etc, but find addonchat more then exceeds my expectations.
Easy to use, configure, and administer. Whilst not free ( if you want the extra features ), its pound for pound, money well spent. Keep up the good work :) |
Too costly. One time charge would've been nice but perpetual yearly fee for anything but the free version is too pricey.
The Free version has very little administrative controls. |
I agree - why a yearly charge for a chat room? I would be happy to pay a one time extra charge for a really good chat room with a small upgrade fee - but shoveling out $125 a year for a good chat room is a bit much. Do that and over two years you've just paid for a VBulletin Forum and a CMS system.

What do the integration options for blog and chat do?

I have use before the flashchat but it is installed on the server and use a lot traffic. If you have a VPS account than a lot of hosters don't accept a chatroom for the heavy load on the server. I'am use the proffesional edition and it works greet. It's like if it is installed on you own server. If I compare it with all the futures I find it cheap |
@worried: When enabled, these features provide links within the chat room to a user's blog by right-clicking on that user's name in the user list. There are other right-click commands that can be enabled as well.

Still ... the product integration provided HERE in this mod is top notch. I dig it, it looks great, it works great. Also, I don't know about you guys but if my users like a certain thing they usually donate to offset my costs. * Installed. ** Nominated. |
I'm going to give it a try. I just wanted to piss about the cost first.
|
Yeah working prefect without any problem. How should i install who's chatting.
|
@OmekaTeam: This is most likely caused because you have not uploaded all of the files properly. Please ensure that all of the files in the upload/ folder (within the ZIP file) are uploaded correctly to your main forum folder.
@cagbaazee: Regarding Who's Chatting, it should automatically be installed and can be enabled/disabled from the AddonChat settings page in the VB ACP. You may need to have a Pro account (haven't tested it with the free edition - a Pro+ account with RAS enabled provides a bit faster updates) or higher; but more importantly, make sure someone is logged in to the chat room before testing it. I don't believe the box appears on the main forum page unless a user is logged in. You may also notice (depending upon your configured settings) that a bracket indicating how many users are currently in the chat room appears next to chat room links within the forum/CMS. |
