        • Check Existing Posts
Should existing posts be checked? If yes, then which of it should be? Only thread's head (first post), or all posts within?
Turning this option 'OFF' means that the scheduled task (cronjob) will be completely useless, it will not do any work at all. Only new & edited posts will be checked if activated in the following settings.
Options: [None | All Posts | Thread's First Post]

        • Check New Posts
Should new posts be checked live (on real time)? If yes, then which of it should be? Only thread's head (first post), or all replies as well?
Turning this option 'OFF' means that the scheduled task (cronjob) will be completely useless, it will not do any work at all. Only new & edited posts will be checked if activated in the following settings.
Options: [None | All Posts | Thread's First Post]

        • Check Edited Posts
Should edited posts be checked live (on real time)? If yes, then which of it should be? Only thread's head (first post), or all replies as well?
Turning this option 'ON' may cause users with low/limited internet connections to have some issues and may not be able to post, specially if their post contains many links to be checked.
Options: [None | All Posts | Thread's First Post]

        • Maximum Checked Links Per Post
How many links should be checked per post? If any post contains more than that defined limit, then those 'over limit' links will be ignored & will not be checked; only the first X links (as defined here) will be checked. Enter "0" for UNLIMITED.

        • Critical Limit/Red Line
Posts can be punished because of high percentage of dead links within. Define the "Critical Limit/Red Line" percentage here as a positive integer value (without any symbols). This "Critical Limit/Red Line" is the percentage that if dead links reaches or exceeded within a post, then that post will be punished.
          Notes & Examples:
          • "10" means if dead links within a post reaches or exceeded 10% of all included links it will be punished. If a post has less than 10% of dead links, then it will pass as valid without punishment.
          • "0" means that all links per post should be valid & alive (no dead links allowed, if just one link is dead the post will be punished); While "100" means the opposite, it means that all links within a post should be dead to be punished, that means if there is only one link alive & the rest are dead, the post will pass as valid without punishment.
          • If any post has only 5 links within it to be checked, that means each link represents 20% from all checked links. It means also if only one link is dead & you have set this setting to '10%' the expression will evaluate as true & will punish that post since it has 20% of dead links.

        • Check Succession Period
Successive checks for same posts can be separated by a certain period of time, so those 'checked recently' posts did not checked every time the script runs. Same posts can be checked multiple times, but with at least 1 day between each two successive checks. Define how many days should separate each two successive checks for the same post, or enter "0" to check posts ONLY ONCE. Note: "14" means your checked posts will be checked again every fourteen days (two weeks). "0" or a high Value usually recommended specially for large boards.

        • Checked Posts Per Batch
It is recommended to define a specific low number of posts to process in each run to prevent any possible timeout or Memory/CPU exhausting during the execution process. A Lower Value usually recommended specially for boards that has long posts with many links. There is other important factors that have strong affect as well such as: "Time/Date Cutoff Mode", "Time/Date Cutoff Value", "Check existing posts", "Maximum Checked Links Per Post", "Check Succession Period"; So please take care & try to set a logical acceptable value for each of these settings to avoid any expected/unexpected issues. You are the best one who knows your board & you are the one who can determine which suits you & your board according to your board's activity/content/requirements.

        • Remote Functions Maximum Redirections
The maximum amount of HTTP redirections to follow.

        • Remote Functions Execution Timeout

        • Required Sharing Links
You may force users to post 'supported' sharing links within their posts in order to submit their posts, otherwise they will get an error message.

Rest Features:
  • Specific Features:-
    • AdminCP Options:
      • Punishment Settings:
        • Thread Punishment Methods
Multiple "Thread Punishment Methods" are available to choose from. Select preferred "Thread Punishment Methods" to apply. Note that "Thread Punishment Methods" are applied on Threads, regardless the checked post is the thread's header (first post) or not. If multiple posts in a thread were checked and any of these posts had dead links that exceeds the critical limit (has been flagged for punishment), and there is selected "Thread Punishment Methods", then the whole thread will be punished.
          • Close Thread
          • Un-stick Thread
          • Moderate Thread
          • Delete Thread
          • Move Thread

        • Post Punishment Methods
Multiple "Post Punishment Methods" are available to choose from. Select preferred "Post Punishment Methods" to apply. Note that "Post Punishment Methods" are applied on individual posts.
While it may be more logical to apply "Post Punishment Methods" on individual posts rather than applying "Thread Punishment Methods", it is recommended to use "Thread Punishment Methods" for technical reasons. At the mean time "Post Punishment Methods" is not as stable/solid as "Thread Punishment Methods", however both are using default vBulletin scenarios in applying their actions -exactly as normal moderation actions-.
          • Moderate Post
          • Delete Post

        • Punishment Recycle Bin Forum
If "Move Thread" method is selected in "Thread Punishment Methods" then a forum should be selected to move punished threads to it. Select preferred forum from the list.

        • On Edit: Revert Actions
If this option is enabled & if edited posts is being checked, and there were a past punishment for that specific post, then it can be reverted if the new check reports it as 'passed' (no dead links or few dead links under the critical limit). Suppose that the edited post was previously punished with (Close Thread - Move Thread - Moderate Post), after a valid check those past punishment actions can be reverted to (Open Thread - Move Thread back to it is original forum - Approve Post).

        • Powerful Usergroups
Powerful Usergroups are those usergroups that can override/overcome the "Critical Limit/Red Line" & force their posts to be posted despite of having dead links. Enter User Group IDs separated by normal English comma.

Note: This powerful ability does not affect only posts for those powerful usergroups, but affects also any post for any user that is edited by those powerful usergroups. It means they can overcome limits when posting/editing their own or others posts as well (They should have permissions to do so of course).

      • Tagging Settings:
        • Tag Threads - Reported Status
After checking a thread, threads can be tagged according to it is reported status: (ex: Alive, Dead).

Modify and localize status tags' text for tagged threads as preferred.

        • Tag Threads - Included Hosts
After checking a thread, threads can be tagged according to included hosts: (ex: HF, RS, MU) OR (ex: Hotfile, Rapidshare, Megaupload).
This setting has a global effect, turning it off disables this feature globally regardless the per host/module settings.
You can control this feature per host/module & set host tag's text as well.

      • Look & Feel Settings:
        • Link Status Colors
Checked links can be colored according to their reported status, select your preferred colors from the color picker or write down the hexadecimal code for each status.
'Lite' edition uses default colors without the ability to customize it from control panel.

        • Post Flag: Last Check Note
Last check note can be displayed within each post to determine whether or not it has been checked before by "PHPKD - vB Link Verifier Bot" and when, simply select in which forums' posts this note should be displayed. That note will appear in posts within those selected forums only. Note that you can select multiple options by holding "CTRL" key while selecting.
After selecting appropriate forums, you have to do two simple manual edits as follow:
In 'postbit' & 'postbit_legacy' templates search for:

          <div class="postfoot">

And put before it directly the following code
This is where the "Last Check Note" will be displayed, so you can choose another place as preferred

          {vb:raw template_hook.postbit_phpkd_vblvb}

        • Post Flag: Last Check Note in first post only
Post Flag: Last Check Note can be displayed either in thread's head (first post) only, or in every post in the thread. That is depends on your usage & your product's settings.

      • Link Directory Settings:
        • Link Directory Recorder Active *(Experimental)*
When active, all checked links will be recorded in a central database table for further display in "Link Directory Browser". However it will add some performance overhead.
This feature is highly experimental in it is nature, and not complete yet. This part is working anyway.

      • Public Verifier Settings:
        • Public Script Name
The public script name available for users, this script displays list of supported hosts, allow users to live check sharing links on the fly, etc..

By one -or more- of the following methods (Moderate Post / Close Thread / Move Thread / Delete Post) :)

Currently it's not supported, but it's suggested as a feature request here. It will be included in upcoming featured version.

It may be due to the fact that this release doesn't scan links inside [ CODE ] & other similar tags. This issue has been fixed in a later 'Pro' version & will be included in upcoming 'Lite' version update V.Soon.

Kangaroo666 01-24-2010 03:15 AM

This new release of v4.0.120 'Lite' is working well.

A new feature of exclude forums is good, but include forums would be better as there would be far less to type, when as we do, checking one forum at a time.

Sounds Great.
The requested feature "Include Forums" already included in the 'Ultimate' edition, but I'll include it as well in the 'Lite' edition in the upcoming release ;).

esperone 01-25-2010 12:58 PM

Threads don't seem to be trashed into my trash forum for some reason.

Could this be because all my members place links inside code tags or something?

dcuellar 01-25-2010 07:08 PM

ummm....No credit to the person who paid to have this done...lol

What I've noticed is that this mod does not work with any hide hack or with links that are posted with code tags.

Would be nice to have that corrected. I have content merchants from vbcredits which allows user to use vbcredits to reveal links.

No, the current release do support all default vBulletin tags including [ CODE ] tags.
Make sure that the punishment forums (to which threads has to be moved) can contain new threads, and of course don't forget to enable the feature it self from the product's setting.

Appreciation goes to you "Danilo" for supporting the original idea of the product, many thanks for your previous support :).

No, that's not the case.
The current release of both the 'Lite' & 'Ultimate' editions support scanning & checking links within any default vBulletin tag including [ CODE ], and the 'Ultimate' edition also support [ CHARGE ] tag.

tafreeh 01-26-2010 10:31 PM

ok i m gonna try this free version.. if i like it... i m gonna go for ultimate version..
Thanks

tafreeh 01-26-2010 11:12 PM

ok i just tested this hack.. apparently its working fine...
But

it also checking those threads where no links are exist... and if RS link is dead, its taking long to verify..

plus, id does not mark in thread, that if this thread is been checked or not..

AT the end, it did not send any emails or pm niether move any threads...

please advice

losedude 01-26-2010 11:21 PM

So what happens if one of the file hosters changes their system ? Are there any fail safes to make sure that all my threads don't get binned ?

SpaMMerGR 01-27-2010 07:08 PM

Will this or the Pro version work on 3.6.12?

thanks in advance!

Well, let's see your notes one by one:
  • Yes, it checks all threads either it contains links or not. The current release of the bot doesn't know if that specific post contains a links or not, how should it know :) !?
  • Checking time depends on the connection between your host & the checked rapidshare hosts, it's something far from the bot itself.
  • It does mark checked posts, but after checking all posts in that specific batch. The upcoming ultimate release should contain significant changing on how & when the bot should mark a post as checked.
  • The lite edition doesn't send email reports, it does send PM reports only & you've to setup settings well & you should enter the username of the sender in "Reports Handler Staff User" setting.
Please if you've any other issues, don't hesitate to post it.

Currently unfortunately no, there is no way for the bot to recognize if the specific host's website has been re-designed & totally changed or not. And as soon as the status messages that's appear with each host isn't limited then do do check this manually & if there's any updates we do update the bot & release a new version with those updates. But just to know, as I see it's not a common task for a host's website to be fundamentally changed, so it's not a periodically task & you shouldn't worry about it.

Unfortunately no, all of our products are only supplied for Officially supported vBulletin series which is 3.8.x & 4.0.x currently. All older series are out-of-date & reached end of life.

if i may say.this by no means just a shameless plug but when i first got hold of this mod i was beyond ecstatic of its capabilities even for a lite version.

i just had to buy the ultimate version, and that too took this product to a whole new level, the amount of settings it provides is a tweakers dream.

if your like me and handle a site where massive amount of links need to be check this is the right mod for it. and if thats not enough the level of support phpkd supplies is down right outstanding. thier ability to go beyond the call of duty to satisfy their customers is amazing if not outstanding.

if you like the lite version, you will love the ultimate release. IMO $10 is a small price to pay for what this mod does.

vglobal 02-09-2010 02:23 PM

Bought and installed.
Have a little question. If I set the punishment is Move thread, will this mod automatic move the punished threads back to original location when they have been updated.

Bouncer222 02-09-2010 06:53 PM

This might be offtopic but just a question...
I keep hearing all these sites such as filefront.com rapidshare.com and etc.. are not allowed to be posted on forums otherwise you could be banned.

Why is this?? What is so bad about them?
Thanks.

Known Issues:
Posts containing huge number of links may cause "MySQL gone away" error while checking specially when you're checking many posts of that kind. A new checking process by it's way to fix this issue & allow large scale checking without causing high load.

What I'm trying to say PHPKD is what is the purpose of this mod? If I understood the description right, it punishes people who post links to those sites right? Why punish someone for posting link to that site?

Thanks.

No, no!! It isn't!!

Please read this description carefully:
Description: This product extract sharing links (Rapidshare, Megaupload, Zshare, Adrive, Depositfiles, Filefactory, ...etc) from posts, then verifies them; If they're "Alive" the post will pass, otherwise the post will be punished (Fully Customizable).

Then the product just verifies links within posts to check if it's live or dead, if they're alive it's fine, otherwise the post -not the author- will be punished, and punished means to be moved to recycle bin or to be deleted & the reason as mentioned because it contains dead -unusable- links. That's it simply :).

Bouncer222 02-10-2010 06:22 PM

K, but why would you punish a user for posting some link like half a year ago and now the link is dead?

Just wondering :)

Good mod, but not for me I guess, but keep it up :)

No one said the author is punished!! I said the post itself, and it's logical choice for webmasters, no one needs to keep tons of dead threads, at least mark it as dead so new users know that those threads has dead links, and also their posters knows & may update those dead links!!

Thanks for your followup.

English is not my primary language, but I can understand well what is the purpose of this mod and how is this mod perform.
The term of punish thread/post here, he mean to put the moderation action to that thread/post, not to banned someone
