Version 4.x of this template for vB4 uses no tables instead i decided to use CSS3 border-image, unfortunately Internet Explorer does not support border-image so the left and right border will not appear in IE, i added the top and bottom borders in IE with <!--[if IE]>

If you change the size of the logo (vbulletin4_logo.png) you will need to edit the header template and change the width to keep the logo centered perfectly:

In version 4.2.5 the border code was replaced to work with newer CSS3, with the older code the borders would not show in many browsers.

EDIT- Might want to update the readme to reflect the new Darkness3 directory name. "1: Upload images to "*your forums*/images/Darkness/"

Very nice.. great job... one little teeny weenie bug report..
(well its not a bug.. just an omission)
But its easy to fix..
If you have a notification.. the whateveryoucallit has still default vbulletin color..
see screenshot.. but as I said.. thats minimal..
In my case.. I had an incoming friedship request..

Thanks everyone, and thanks for taking the time to post some of the bugs i missed.
I am also now aware that the attachment popup needs to be themed as well.

Believe it or not the border around the page is created using one simple image:

You can change the border by simple modifying this image.

If you want to have more control you will need to edit the CSS for <div id="darkbord">

Which is hardcoded into the CSS file vbulletin.css which can be modified by searching the template files.

Also note that i had to add the top and bottom border in Internet Explorer with:

I may have a solution for the input backgrounds, but because its a few hours to new years... and i have a big one planned... i may not have an update for about 2 days.

I'm getting white backgrounds with white text on groups and albums. A known bug?

Also black text when switching from standard to WYSIWYG editor.

one teeny problem

in FF3.6 beta 5 (could also be a FF problem)
It doesnt come from your style.. but is a vbulletin issue.. as it is also happening in default style..
but adding a clear:both or something similar (floatcontainer) could fix that easely...

(you never know if or when vbulletin is going to fix it.. AND its better to have some enhancement..)

Its definately a odd problem, i will look into this when i get time but hopefully vBulletin will fix this problem in 4.0.1.

I tested with Firefox 3.5.6 and dont see the problem, it could be a problem with the beta version of FF

Darkness Version 6.1 released
-Fixed notification background color
-Fixed navbar_tab_selected_background image path
-Fixed album shadow colors
-Styled attachments page and popup
-Fixed background input/form colors
-Styled albums and groups

There may be other bugs, but these are all the major ones that i know of.
When vBulletin 4.0.1 is released i will do another update to fix other bugs that will be fixed in that version.

But could we have a slightly more different color for selected images in the upload window. It's a bit too similar to unselected images.

Nope, all good thanks :)

Unfortunately the CSS is not in the stylevars which is why i missed it the first time.

To edit this --> edit templates and find yuiupload.css

It was ygtvfocus class in assetmanager.css. Gotta love Firebug :D

Yes but ygtvfocus is not in the stylevars.

This has been my favorite style ever since I started using vBulletin. I've been migrating over to vB4 for the last week and asked my members for suggestions on what style to use on the new forums and apparently it has come down to this one again. Although, I need to come up with a new banner for the style since we are a MMORPG guild. I tried working with the current one, but I just couldn't get it to work. Nothing that needs to be fixed, I just need better skills working with graphics.

My current issue is that the Arcade block background color isn't using the dark background from this style: http://sacredhaven.org/forumsh/arcade.php

That's a problem for the Arcade mod though.

I guess I spoke too soon! LOL. I just installed the newest version and now the reply text is the same color as the background. I noticed this same problem with the BP-Brown last week as well. I installed the newest BP-Brown and that one appears to be working now.

Yea, I actually was using Darkness for the last week, but after upgrading it yesterday (after posting this message), the reply text box is white on white now. Funny how that happened and the BP-Brown one was fixed. I'm using the BP-Brown one now till the next Darkness patch.

I will fix the remainding bugs when 4.0.1 is released sometime this week, as no doubt most of these problems will be solved with the stylevar fixes.

For now to fix the white on white and black on black in the input and textarea boxes do this:
