JJs Piwik tracking code integration
 

This product will add the javascript tracking code for your very own Piwik installation. In short Piwik is an open source alternative to Google Analytics where the collected data is yours, and yours alone. If you want to learn more about Piwik, you can visit their project homepage at http://piwik.org.

As widely suggested, the code is added right before the closing body tag of the forum, cms and blog. I didn't check if the code was on the cms pages, but on the forum and the blog it just works fine.

Tested on:
vBulletin 4.0.0 PL1

Uses Piwik tracking code from:
Piwik 0.5.4
(I don't think there have been much changes in the tracking code, before :))

Installation:

1. Install the product xml file.
2. Go to the settings group "JJs Piwik tracking code integration" and set it up.
3. Remember to activate the integration.
4. Important: It will not activate, if the website id wasn't specified and isn't greater than 0!

I've installed this but it doesn't work for me, it's installed properly and so is piwik but yet when I go into piwik nothing is showing up as in no activity nothing... I don't know what else to do...

Hi, I've just checked it again. If you set up your piwik installation and the websites config correctly (including the urls) and the settings in vb it should run. Be sure to take the id from your configured website from piwik and enter the value in the settings dialog.

I've attached some screenshots of my development example setup with the stats counted immediately after a call to a vb page (forum.php and blog.php).

just as stated in the description of the Piwik URL. Do not enter the protocol there. Enter "www.irishparanormal.org/piwik" and it should run correctly.

Or use irishparanormal.org/piwik which should also work fine. Best not to use www with subdomains :). Since this isn't one, it doesn't really matter.

How long does piwik normally take to update its self?

I've checked your page with Firebug (FF-Extension). The piwik code is inserted correctly but doesn't run actually. The updates in Piwik are instant.

You have a javascript error on your page, which prevents any javascript execution after the point of the error.

You should install the extension and check the console messages to get rid of any errors in your page.

The line mentioned in the error message is
and there is missing a closing " in your Google Adsense Code.

Hmm, what's wrong with just inserting the code yourself in the footer? That'd make it on all pages.

I mean, what is the benefit of this MOD, if anyone could explain it?

Actually the point is that you do not need to modify a template.

got a question , i downloaded a package from piwik and uploaded it to my site
is this necessary ? i mean ,do i need the zip file from piwik and your mod to work ?

You need a fully functional piwik installation to have a use of this mod.

Thanks for this great addon! But I have a problem with mobile style. After activating the addon, the mobile style shows a blank page. I tested all my other plugins and every works fine with mobile style. I have vB 4.1.12 running. Could you check this and fix it?

Interesting alternative to basic awstats for webmasters who do not care about analytics data.. (like me ;))

But if can host piwik on my server (where vbulletin site is hosted), do i really need to install this addon..

This definitely does work, and it works really well. I have Piwik installed on a subdomain (stats.thetechgenius.net) and it tracks my main forum domain (thetechgenius.net). It has been working really well without any issues at all.

trying this on vb 4.2.3 and after more than a day no data is received by piwik. piwik is installed in its own sub domain, and am using it on many websites, the only one that is not receiving data from is from the forums site, I am using your plugin on the forums site.

one thing I should mention is that the forums site is using ssl / https and forced to go https by .htaccess
