Members who are chatting in Flashchat 6.
This modification is no longer available or supported. Note: I no longer use Flashchat, and development and support of it at Tufat appears to have died in 2010. vBulletin 4.x Version ** This is not compatible with vBulletin 4.0.7 or Less ** Please remember to click Mark as Installed if you use this modification. Please fee free to nominate this modification for the MOTM, and/or use the donate link provided (Support Developer). This is a simple display of who is currently chatting in FlashChat - on the forum homepage display. Note: This modification is for Flashchat 6, it will not work with Flashchat 4, and may not work with Flashchat 5. The main features are ; 1. It displays the list on Forum Home with the "Users online" display. 2. The list view is collapsable, so you see just the number. 3. Users who should display as coloured or bold etc are displayed correctly (based on the display usergroup) 4. If you 'hover' over a username it will show the room they are chatting in and their status (away etc). 5. If the chat is empty, a simple "no one is chatting" message is displayed. 6. The option to record and display the Most Ever chatters can be enabled. 7. The ability to turn it on/off is in the ACP Options. 8. The ability to allow only certain usergroups to view the list is an ACP option (include or exclude groups). Added in v4.0.2 9. The list view can be set to be always collapsed on page load. 10. The mod will try and detect if Flashchat is installed, and display an error if not. (Options are located in vBulletin Options > Who Is Using Flashchat). Unzip the XML and import into vB using the ACP Product Manager. Further Notes: This hack cannot display any bots in the chat, due to the strange way that Flashchat stores this information. I have no connection with the Flashchat product - if you have questions about Flashchat functionality then their forums are located here. Support This modification is not supported. This has been updated for style changes introduced in vBulletin 4.0.8. It will probably look ok in older versions, but will not be perfect. History: v4.0.1 : 25-Dec-2009 : Initial release for vb 4.0.0 Gold. v4.0.2 : 14-Jan-2010 : Flashchat detection and always collapsed option added. v4.0.3 : 26-Jan-2010 : Various updates. v4.0.4 : 18-Feb-2010 : Installer update. v4.0.5 : 29-May-2010 : Fix error in upgrade section of install code. v4.0.6 : 22-Oct-2010 : Fixed for WGO style changes in vB 4.0.8. v4.0.7 : 06-Nov-2010 : Install code updated. v4.1.0 : 04-Dec-2010 : Updated for vBulletin 4.1. |
yes! THX YOU!
|
Very Nice...
One 'feature' I would like to see (at least as an option) is to have the list recognize if a member has their 'invisible' flag set on their account and then not show it (except to those that have persmissions.) Like how the Currently Online list does. |
That is deliberately not implemented as its pointless - if you login to the chat you will see them anyway.
|
Dear Paul,
great as usual! ;) And thank you very much! Only one question, please ... do you see a chance to generally realize this : Attachment 108156 (Sidebar Forum 4 - not as widget) I always thought and got the feedback too, that the information "who is online in the chat" in "Whats going on?" does not arrest attention, cause it`s placed at the bottom of the forum. Thank you again and merry christmas! |
Sorry, but not at the moment - I'll keep the request in mind for the future.

Thanks for this and the integration Paul, great stuff! *Installed*
I do have a question, the most users ever online at any one time gives a date of 1969. I'm not sure what the problem is, any ideas? I currently have it disabled via options until I can fix it... Screenshot |
There is nothing to fix, thats simply the default date as no one has used the chat on your forum yet.
|
Thanks! I'll be looking to install this when we upgrade.
|
Installed but when enabled I get the the following error when trying to view the forum.

Sorry, ignore this. I have just seen I am using an old version of the Chat software.
|
Thanks Paul!
|
Installed and working fine.......marked and tagged........thanks!
|
OK, I shouldn't attempt this stuff on almost no sleep, but I am trying to figure out how to change the "Flashchat 6.0.6" text that is displayed on the section. It seems to be tied to "wic.whotitle" but I can't figure out where to change it =(
|
In what way are you trying to change it ?
|
Would prefer it to say "ForumName Chat: Total Chatters Online: 0" instead of "Flashchat 6.0.6 : Total Chatters Online: 0"
|
Then you need to edit the phrase wic_chat_today
|

I recommend still using this mod (Members who are chatting in Flashchat 6) in case users have sidebar blocks hidden. |

I know, I tried that and got no results. Not sure what is up with my install =/

Hi
I get this message in the forumtop: Quote:
greetings jo |
Either your Flashchat is not installed correctly, or you have incorrectly set the language code in this mods options.

|
Yes but this is a version for 4.0.0 and not for 4.0.1 ;-)
I get this error... Warnung: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in [path]/forum.php(78) : eval()'d code (Zeile 36) |
This for all vb4 versions.
Also, see posts #29 to #32 |
Big thanks was my fault!!!
