If you have any suggestions add them as well, because after Christmas I don't plan on supporting this modification any further. |
Cheers, ears!

Cheers T.I.M.
Installed this today as it's snowing everywhere else! The users like it :D |
Just a note, one of the snowflakes is a clickable link that will direct your users to this site:
http://dynamicdrive.com/ I presume the original poster wanted to add a bit of traffic his way, should have mentioned it though, naughty! |
Going to install this on Christmas Eve this year :D
|
Work Great....Merry Christmas from Realtesters.!
|
Followed the instructions but nothing happens after 'enabling' in the vBulletin option.
|
awesome!
|
Thanks! I love it and it was so easy to do! I do have a question though if anyone can answer it.. is there a way we could use this to make it snow on our home page as well as the index page?
|
Nice hack !
Very pretty for Xmas. ! |
Excellent mod, just installed :)
|
Thanks a lot :-) great mod
|
is it possible to adjust it to show on just one forum rather than in forumhome? most of my users never go to forumhome - they just jump directly into the forum.
|
it is cool
tnx |
Thanks ... !
maybe can have another picture of snow ? |
Thanks for the mod.
You can have any picture you like as snow just rename it as snow.gif and put it in the images directory of your forum. Here's what I did with Pedobear on my forum Lolocaust :D |
Installed but did not work for me. I got little boxes with a red 'X' in the center. Not sure how to fix. Any suggestions.

should also point out the this mod causes not insignificant CPU usage on the client machine, and potentially affects your overall user experience. Looks pretty, but not sure it's worth the trade off. Just my opinion though.

You should check before making a statement like that. I can only account for my AMD X4 950 (3ghz / core), where it loads 1 core to ~40% and the other 3 to ~25% using Chrome or Firefox, I think that's a lot for what it is.....
It's a nice touch, don't get me wrong, but my users have complained about this type of thing before. Just passing on my experience. |

I'm not disagreeing with that point at all.
|
If you open the xml file you can copy and paste the Javascipt (everything from: <script type="text/javascript"> to </script>, inclusive) you can paste it into any other template you want, like forumdisplay or showthread or wherever- just paste it right above the </head> in the template.
I know it's after Christmas now but since we're having a blizzard tomorrow I feel now is the right time to use this. Thanks... but is it just me or do the settings not do anything? |

That's a great alternative for those who were having display issues through the XML. |
Great mod. Simple install. My forum users loved it.
|
When I make it so the snow goes down the whole page ie:
HTML Code:
// Configure how much snow should drop down before fading ("windowheight" or "pageheight") Does anyone know how to fix this as I am having a real problem with it |
