Mobile Style for vBulletin 3.8

This is identical to teh 3.7 version, except that it has had the version numbers updated on the templates so you don't get the outdated templates messagesin AdminCP. You do not need to upgrade.

A very cut back style with very low bandwidth usage which renders well on pretty much all small screen devices from old Nokias to new iPhones.

• DOES NOT SUPPORT SOCIAL GROUPS OR ALBUMS - FORUMS ONLY
• Supports viewing/posting/replying in forums
• Supports Private Messaging
• Supports Tags (viewing, not adding)
• Supports viewing and replying to messages in Social Groups

Notes

• If you are installing this on a vBulletin version higher than the current 'supported' version, and wish to get rid of the Out-of-Date Custom Templates Found! errors, see Post #329 for more information...
• I suggest you also install this add-on to this style to get more out of it...
• To modify the colour scheme of this style, you have to edit the wireless.css file by hand
• If you use a portal such as vbadvanced which you wish to disable in mobile style, see here

Release Information

• Version 1.0.0 - Initial release ported from my 3.7 version

Install Instructions

• Save attached XML to your local computer
• Save attached wireless.css.txt, rename to wireless.css and upload to your forum root
• In AdminCP go to "Styles and Templates"
• In the "Import Style XML File" section browse to where you saved the XML
• Click "Import" button
• Come back to this page and click "Mark as Installed"

Small question.... I use VBadvance cmps - is there a way to assign a different home page within a style?

I haven't found a way to do this yet. What I ended up doing on my site was to edit the vbadvanced templates in the mobile style to make them mobile friendly. Alternatively you could just edit the adv_portal template and 'disable' vbadvanced in teh mobile style - see here https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...71#post1535871

Great style, it would be perfect if it works with vbulletin blog.

If you use VBA modules on your forum index with this skin and you want a header bar for the module you need to change the class in your adv_portal_module_wrapper under this style.

Just change the first tcat to titlebg and it should show up better.

Also to disable VBA modules in this style you need to add a plugin.

I was referring to viewing threads via this mod on my phone. When I click on a post I only see the most recent post. I can't access prior posts in the thread as I could via Hybrid/Threaded mode on my computer. Is there any way to do this?

I'm afraid it doesn't support threaded (or Hybrid) mode. A pugin to set the mode to linear when using this style may be able to be wriiten ...

Dartho - How do you switch skins from within this style?
I see code in the footer for the quickchooser but it is not loading.

Yep - it's an addon product which allows you to make a few customisations to this style - you need both.

when i use my Black Berry and want to see the new replay to my post I had to do refresh to see the replay or the new post from the last time I visited the site or the post ?

is there a way to make it updated by the click ?

my users says that cannot reply to post.
i'm testing it and through internet explorer or firefox I don't see the reply button.
I tried to reinstall it (overwriting) and refreshed cache of my browser but nothing.
How can I fix it?

I have a big problem !
I installed this style +
Mobile Phone / iPhone / PDA Detection and Style Assignment +
Mobile Style Options 3.8
Then some problems happens:
1. MGC ChatBox is disabled.
2. BBCode Buttons disappeared.
3. Accessing from mobile was forcing to use this style (mobile2) but when I click on any forum (subforum) I am redirected to the icon of the forum (subforum) i.e. the image I put in the title of the forum (suforum)! and not to the forum (subforum) itself !
Please help ? I uninstalled every thing regarding the mobile mod I mentioned but still no BBcode buttons appears ?

Did you configure the "Mobile Style Options" - it could disable such things if incorrectly set up. Once uninstalled, it wouldn't affect anything though.

now I got it,
when I used (mobile2) style on my PC, it disabled all features to basic ones,
then even if I go to another styles, the options are set to basics (no BBcodes, no MGC Chat).
I have just now fixed it by resetting my options!

But the problem of accessing the forums didn't work, can you try it your self ?
I mean in (the title of a forum put first an image then forum title)
then try to access that forum from your mobile using (mobile2 style) ?
It will show only that image and not FORUMDISPLAY !

The style looks great. Using the mobile emulators it seems to work great on most phones. I am having some difficulties with BB and iPhones though. The width of the page doesn't seem to display at 220px (or whatever it's supposed to) but seems to be full size. Any ideas?

No need to edit, just select "ingore style version" when installing ;)

dartho, i already have that add on installed which is why i asked the question i want to add underneath "Posted via Mobile Device" UA and then under that "Regards, $UserName"

But i couldn't see how to acheive that, can you help?

how do you get it so when you click a thread title from search results if pops to the latest post. I LOVE that feature of this skin, i have been using quite a while, i would like to emulate that effect on the iphone style skin...
