Cel Sponsors/Subscribers on Forumhome
 

This mod will show the subscribers of a given paid subscription at the bottom of your forumhome in the What's Going On block. I'm using this to show and thank my forum sponsors.


Features

• Show subscribers of one, more or all paid subscriptions in WGO on Forumhome (default: subscription with the ID 1)
• Users who themselves are subscribers:
  • can be shown a thank you message (phrase, completely customizable)
  • will see the date their subscription(s) expire(s)
  • can see their username colored, depending on when their subscription expires (customizable, defaults: one week before->green, three days before->red)
• Admins will see the subscribers sorted by expiry date (closest expiry date first), color markers as described above and the actual expiry date as a tooltip.
• Other customzation: box title (phrase), icon, box title and icon link
• Set a limit to how many users are shown. If a limit is set, the subscribers will be selected randomly, but the current user will always be shown. Show all link, can be set for certain usergroups only.
• Restrict mod execution to defined usergroups.
• Please note: The standard image used on installation was changed in vB4. If you don't see an image, you need to adapt the setting in AdminCP.

Installation

• import product file
• go to AdminCP->Options->Cel Sponsors/Subscribers on Forumhome and do settings

Templates and phrases used (for customization only)

• forumhome_cel_sponsors: the template for the whole box
  • calls phrase cel_sponsors_title: The title for the box
  • calls phrase cel_sponsors_message: The thank you message for subscribed users
  • calls template forumhome_cel_sponsors_msgbit: the notices about subscriptions the current user has and their expiry date.
    • calls cel_sponsors_msg_single or cel_sponsors_msg_multiple, epending on how many subscriptions are active for the user
  • calls template forumhome_cel_sponsors_eachsub: the formatting of the line that lists the subscribers or a subscription
    • calls cel_sponsors_subusers: the formatting of a single username in the list and the seperator (default: comma)

I don't see anything after install!

Chances are you have either

• not added the right subscription ID in AdminCP (not: Usergroup ID!)
• deactivated the mod in AdminCP
• no subscribers yet to the subscription you defined
• a heavily customized skin. Check whether the template hook forumhome_wgo_pos2 is present in your FORUMHOME template

Well, for admins you just have to look into AdminCP. The point of this mod is to thank the sponsors or advertise subscriptions, that would kinda beat the purpose, really.

This is pretty cool! I have a lot of premium members...I'm wondering if this will help increase those numbers by shear "peer pressure" :)

Template adaption only. Note that the functionality to collapse has been commented out in template due to the standard wgo subblocks in vB4 still missing this functionality. If you want to use it anyway, remove the comment tags (<vb:comment> and </vb:comment>) in forumhome_cel_sponsors template.

Also modified the settings of this mod to reflect compatibility with vB4 Gold (no update needed).

Sorry, I don't really know what is happening at your forum - it seems the mod is drawing empty usernames. It can't be because of A-Za-z0-9, since even your screenshot shows usernames that have characters outside that range, and on my testsite the mod handles non-ascii-characters well (tested with arabian, see screenshot).

Just a quick note regarding xhtml validation:

There is an ommission that breaks validation in one of the templates of this mod. In future versions this will be fixed, and I just updated the product package. No new version number for this. If you want to fix it without reuploading the product file, open your forumhome_cel_sponsors template and find:
Replace with:
Done.

The new version fixes a style issue that was caused by style changes in vB 4.0.8.
Do install this new version only when upgrading to vB 4.0.8.

Has anyone figured out a way to display this in the usercp? I don't think many of my subscribers would see it at the bottom of forumhome.

Great mod hopefully it will help to drive other members to purchase subscriptions.

It's working for me. I just have a question though. Is it possible to remove the titles all together so it just shows a list of the people who have subscriptions. I have multiple subscriptions for different amounts of time as Premium. Right now, it shows either the title of the subscription or #1, #2, etc. I just want it to be a list of users like the current online.

Anyone have it working under 4.2.0 PL3? Have installed it but can't seem to let it work.

Does it only work when there is done a transaction? So i can't use it as placing user manual to the subscribers usergroup?

when set to show all your subscriptions does not get subscriptions valid through message, and HTML Username Markup does not work. How to fix? Have any update for work on 4.1.10?
"Your subscription will be valid through 29th December 2012"
