Default Avatar
1 Attachment(s)
This plugin will make a default avatar show for all users if the user does not have an avatar. This works in the postbit, profiles, and members list. It uses the image "images/misc/unknown.gif" by default, which is used in several locations for the same purpose, and works on vB 3.7+ and vB4. This is editable in the Admin CP under vBulletin Options -> User Picture Options -> Default Avatar Image Location.
Updates:
This works for vBulletin 4.0 as well as 3.7+. vB3 thread located here. |

reserved till install vb4 |
Thanks for this have installed it - one of my favorite mods, small and basic but makes a difference thank you.
|
I installed it in my testvb, and plan to do so in live.
|
I'll be installing this later...I hate seeing even members who have a lot of posts on my site and been there for a while...and still have no avatar..
|
|
Just the thing needed to keep the showthread not look so empty also keep some of the complicated styles looking good.

Installed Thanks :D

Work Fine in. Version 4.0.0 Beta 4
Thank you very much. Marked as installed!! |

Cool! Very useful ... thanks!
An (Default-) Add-on for the profile pictures would be interesting too. |
Works perfect. Thanks.
|
Quick question. This works fine on Forum. However when it comes to CMS or may be on blog (haven't tested this yet) a default avatar is shown even for users who already selected an avatar. Is there a setting that enables the mod for CMS and blog? I mean when users post comments.

Unregistered User's Avatar links to their profile but no way. may it be unvisible on unregistered users postbits also they cannot upload any avatar.
i am using postbit_legacy on vb 4.0.0 PL1 live bug: İ? mimarlık best regards. |
Maybe different avatar should assigned for unregistered users (Guest avatar) is works better. but no links to the their profile.

Great mod, installed it and works lovely! One problem though:
On the User CP page of a member, the avatar is too big for the block. It goes outside the block and doesn't look too fancy hehe. Added the screenshots as an attachment. Hope this problem can be solved. Thank you for your help and for creating this lovely mod! |
Thanks! Will try when ready.
|
This mod is a must, thanks a lot :)

My avatar size limit is 170px by 170px, so I created a default custom avatar for this hack.
The only problem is the avatar in user profile doesn't get compressed to thumbnail size like user avatars. Any way to make this happen? |
I have a small issue...
I have changed the default image "unknow.gif" 80x80px with another "unknow.png" 128x128px bit the image don't work. Any suggestions to solve? :) thx! |

giorgino -Since you uploaded another image, you will also have to change the 'image' name on your control panel (from unknown.gif to unknow.png or unkown.png)
Look at the screenshot on the right in the above setup details. This will show you where you make the change. |

I've already done this Taz :) I don't know where is the problem... :( |
Be sure you have both names matched.
The original image is unknown. You had unkow. Look for the image in the browser http://www.yoursite.com/forum/images/misc/unknow.png (this is just an example URL). If you do not see it, your path/image name is incorrect |
Installed working great thanks
|
Works great, thank you.
