vb4 or vB3 Series?

What is your choose? vb4 or vb3 series?

Neal-UK 11-14-2009 01:14 PM

From using the vB4 on my site and going live with it without the CMS or Blog add-ons, vB4 gets my vote.

JimLink 11-14-2009 01:28 PM

I have installed 4.0 locally to test and as soon as it goes gold it will be running my site.

EidolonAH 11-14-2009 01:41 PM

I have voted vB4 as this is the direction I am following, I do presently prefer vB3 but that's just because vB4 has tossed me an immense learning curve, but no more so than the learning curve prior to getting to grips with vB3. Just wish it wasn't so much more difficult to grasp the new style design of vB4, hopefully the Gold release will see the style design (css files and stylevar manager) tidied up some.

I have a quiet forum which I have upgraded and I like the results so far.

fta2k 11-14-2009 02:18 PM

I'll make the jump to 4.0

Paul M 11-14-2009 03:03 PM

Now, or in the future ? Different answers for me.

Seяѕeяi 11-14-2009 03:22 PM

Forever vBulletin 4 !

cclaerhout 11-14-2009 03:45 PM

vB 3.x & maybe vB 5.0.

Paul M 11-14-2009 04:38 PM

Ive 'voted' 3.x as I have no plans atm to move to vb4. In the future ? well eventually I guess.

Llandy 11-14-2009 04:43 PM

Going with Paul on this one.

vB4 still needs a fair bit of work before it'll be great. I think it'll get there though.

Loki12 11-14-2009 08:44 PM

Staying with vb3 for the time being ... until many customizations have been released for 4.0. Running a very busy forum which is quite customized.

EagleHawk1 11-14-2009 08:53 PM

Definitely vBulletin 4! Can't wait for it to go Gold!

You may consider the new vbulletin4 script's cost, it's style, and it's speed, or ext.

My question for recent times, not for years ahead. The new vbulletin or vBulletin3!

Defkalion 11-15-2009 01:46 PM

Well it all depends on what each admin needs.

For me, it's no contest. I've been having cms needs so badly , because I needed to expand my websites' potential and profile, so vb4 all the way, even with the little i've seen so far, even without any addon modules.

LbR 11-15-2009 02:04 PM

4.0 Definitely, Upgraded after some hours when it was released :D

ShadowStalker 11-16-2009 06:52 AM

I'll be running it on a test site for now. I will probably wait a while after 4.0 is released before I upgrade the actual forum. I am only running with 8 mods on the site and two styles so it isn't a huge deal if I lose those.

I think it is crazy how many people I have heard installed it on their live site. Regardless of whether it is getting close to Gold or not it is a Beta version. I don't want to have to go back through and attempt to save my site if there ends up being a serious error down the road with Beta.

vb4.0 all the way
I like the latest and greatest

Ted S 11-20-2009 05:33 PM

Sticking with vb3 for the foreseeable future. Anything that 4 does for my users, 3 can be made to do. As mods come out to extend 4 in new ways that will of course change.
