11/20/09 - uCash 4.0.1 released, adding the option to edit a user's points when editing a user in the Admin CP. For some reason I thought that was already implemented. Whatever, it's there now. Enjoy.

Welcome to uCash 4.0.x!

uCash is a points system for vBulletin. 4.0.x is the continuation of uCash 3.9, which is a rewrite of previous uCash versions from scratch designed for vBulletin 4 and up. Simply upload the files located in the 'upload' folder and import product-ucash.xml in the Product Manager of vBulletin (allowing overwrite if you are upgrading). If you are installing this as a first time user of uCash then congrats, everything should be working and you can configure the options to your liking from there.

If you have a previous (pre-3.9) install of uCash or uCash & uShop still in the database, please read "oldupgrades.txt".

If you have any issues to report with this addon, please post it in this thread. Include all relevant details, such as vBulletin version and any previous install of uCash or uCash & uShop and its version number. Please do not PM or IM me for support unless you have a showstopping bug or exploit to report.

This is basically the same feature set as 3.9.0. More features are planned for the future, however.

Thanks. uShop was my baby, I regret letting it die off the way I did. The full rewrite is still very early (just parts of the admin file at the moment) but if I can get the core back in place the way I want it, hopefully I'll be able to get something functional working.

Nice to see this updated. It is one thing I need on my site. Looking forward to seeing a list of planned updates you may have in store for this.

Any shop addon for this?

uShop is in early development but won't be ready for a good while. I wouldn't be surprised if another addon author releases an addon taking advantage of a points system like uCash in the meantime.

a "recount points" option would be nice so you if you already have an established forum with people that have tons of posts, they wont bother about saying stuff about them having more point.

I'm so excited to hear that you are rewriting uShop for 4.0 :D ...it's my members all-time favorite mod! When you say a "good while"...are you thinking 3 or 4 months or more like 6 months to a year kind of thing? Just trying to get an idea since my members will definitely be asking!

Anywhere between 1 month and 1 year. :p

Much closer to the first that the second. In the end, though, I have no idea. It all depends on how much work I am able to put into it as well as how easily I am able to implement it the way I want it to. It very much is a total rewrite, hopefully I am able to make a much more maintainable code base this time.

Awesome Addon! But How can I give a default amount of Point to all users?

How about points for blogs, articles and visitor messages? Or is this limited to forums only?

I believe its currently limited to forum functions. I believe we have plans to expand on it completely.

I'm new at this and cannot find any instructions on how to add new plugins. In the control panel it will allow me to add the XML file, but I have no idea how to include the other files (in the upload directory).

Can somebody give me a step-by-step to installing this (and other) plugins?

1) Your post belongs in General, in the forum section rather than in a specifik mod.

but anyway.

usually the "upload" folder is the one which content you upload to either root or forum root
depending on installation..

then you just import the xml product via your admin cp, and if it works your website is fine
if it dosent and your getting DB errors etc, just unstall a product..

its much simpler than installing vb itself. ;)

If there isn't a build in option. You would have to use phpmyadmin.
