vB4.0.0 Beta 3 realeased on vb.com

Will you be creating a new vB 4.0 modification area now that this has been released and people will start things for it very soon? I for one will be reworking the YAAS that we have been supporting.

Vackrick 11-13-2009 04:17 AM

yeah vBulletin.org Administrator pls create vBulletin 4 modification section

i remember when testing the 3.8 we also have modifiation section created by vBulletin.org admin

pls do the same thing for v4.0.0

Shazz 11-13-2009 04:23 AM

Jeez people have no patience! Im still updating to 3.8.4! :p

When the release of 4.0 goes through the client area at vB.com then a section will open here for it on vB.org

Xanlamin 11-13-2009 04:27 AM

That's the thing....it already has. Many are already downloading their copies of forum only packages and suite. Got my test site up already.

Dismounted 11-13-2009 04:28 AM

Of course we will have a 4.0 section. It has already been created, but is currently only visible to Alpha/Private Beta testers.

I am not sure when the public will be able to see it (probably very soon though).

Xanlamin 11-13-2009 04:32 AM

Ahhh...ok

All good now, given the testers a leg up on filling it up with mods.

Dismounted will vB4.0.0 Once it goes to a Stable release will all Expired Owned Licensed Holder be able to see and download???

Xanlamin 11-13-2009 04:45 AM

If your lic is expired you will not be able to download 4.0, you will have to reactivate your lic.

And that is also a post for vb.com instead of vb.org.

But it say that If you owned a lease License you will not able to download

but if you owned a OWNED License you will beable to download

Xanlamin 11-13-2009 05:46 AM

Those with active lic that have bought within the past certain days will be able to cause they are on the new 4.0 lic, biut if you bought before that certain time then you will not be able to download until Gold is released.

Vackrick 11-13-2009 05:49 AM

luckily i have two license.... one is vB4 License one is OWNED License which download only 3x series so i just wait for the gold release then

As long as you have a valid license (expired or active, excluding expired leased licenses), you will have full access to vBulletin.org.

Tigur 11-13-2009 07:15 AM

Dismounted: I am able to download vB4 Beta 3 as of right now, yet I am not able to see this invisible forum for vB4 mods...

dude now vB4.0.0 Beta is still under testing so vBulletin.org will only update the section when A Stable Release Of vB 4.0.0 Is release by vB Official Team.

Right now that section is already created but only viewable By the Alpha Testers and the Private Beta Testers

Marco van Herwaarden 11-13-2009 07:43 AM

Questions regarding licenses or other questions regarding vBulletin 4.0 should be asked on vBulletin.com or a support ticket.

We already have a vBulletin 4.0 modification forum since the Alpha testing begun. For information on how to gain access see https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost....19&postcount=2

Defkalion 11-13-2009 08:33 AM

As from today all customers that bought a vb4 license have access to download and install beta3, I have installed mine already. So maybe now that beta3 is public these forums can be visible to all customers? :)

Charlie98902 11-13-2009 09:53 AM

I came on this morning to see if there was a section that I can start up seeing what's being/been done. When will all users be able to see vbulletin 4 modifications?

Paul M 11-13-2009 10:10 AM

We havent decided when to make it available yet, but whatever the decision, its not likely to be for a few days.

Defkalion 11-13-2009 10:17 AM

Ok Paul thanks for the info. Not harm to wait for a few days more, we're just getting used to default vb still :)

l3it3r 11-13-2009 12:21 PM

Any idea of when the 'rest' of us will see 4.0? I purchased the publishing suite in the pre-order and I'm really excited to get it on my site as soon as it's available!

Vaupell 11-13-2009 12:41 PM

installed vb4 suite on a local xampp server, and started makeing some skins :D

cellarius 11-13-2009 02:22 PM

I'd like to ask for a few days of warning time ahead of making this public. The stuff I wrote and converted was done for alphas 1 and 2, to test stuff. I have not found the time to bring them up to date for beta; if I can't make it in time I'd have to ask you to delete the threads for the time being :(

Carnage 11-13-2009 03:38 PM

I've updated one of my mods and posted it there, thats fine to go public; if the forums aren't going to go public for a while i'll add the download to the current thread so that people can test it.

Mark.B 11-13-2009 03:43 PM

I think it would perhaps be sensible to leave the current "alpha" 4.0 mods section private like it is, and create a new "public" one, that way when individual coders feel their mods are ready for the wider beta they can post them up in there themselves.

Paul M 11-13-2009 06:31 PM

The vb4 forums will go live over the weekend, possibly in stages as code changes are needed for some of them.

M-Tuning 11-13-2009 07:48 PM

Nice!

I am busy to convert all my mods for my forum and converting my template.
So any help with mods from vB.org would be nice!

spipo 11-13-2009 09:01 PM

nice to heard that , I hope that we will see all the vb 3.x updated and exported to VB4 .

regards

Mark.B 11-13-2009 10:10 PM

I have to say, as impressed as I am with vB4 itself, I can't see how I'm ever going to get mine upgraded.

A nose through the templates and it might just have well have been written in Chinese! I haven't got a clue what's going on in them, not even slightly. Well apart from the standard html bits obviously. And the stylevar system...sheesh!

I mean, it's not that they're not good, they're just too...daunting. I've spent years teaching myself vB in my spare time, I'm not sure I have quite the energy and motivation to rip it all up and start again....

Wayne did say it would be a steep learning curve but for me it's actually a cliff face. I've just no idea what everything means now.

Not to worry....I either will or I won't.

Link14716 11-13-2009 10:15 PM

The StyleVar system still needs a lot of polish and a lot of bugs are still needing to be fixed in regards to their usage. I found the StyleVar reference guide posted at vB,com weeks ago to be very useful for most things, though it is a bit outdated.

The threads posted in the Alpha/Beta testers forums will not be made public before those who have posted will have a say in moving them to public locations. We are not going to make the entire testers forum public.

Thanks for that info, Marco. That's good to hear :)

Dream 11-15-2009 12:46 AM

*taps foot* :)

I want to scream "FIRST!!!" on the v4 mods forum :D

(just kidding of course, don't kill me)
