Anyone familiar with this site? Is it legit? Better then Google ads?

Medtech 10-30-2009 11:33 PM

looks legit to me, it is also designed to work with vbulletin, i googled it and found this.. http://www.everyjoe.com/articles/dri...ness-analysis/

I've been using since april and I've been very happy.
They tend to approve larger forums, we've had a few forum members apply for their sites and not get in because they weren't "active" enough.
I've made enough money from them that I still run their code.

DrivingRevenue 11-13-2009 08:50 PM

Yes we're legit :)

Our clients include Internet Brands (which owns vBulletin), Vertical Scope, VWvortex, AVSforum and about 500 others.

Generally, we only accept established forums with a good member base and traffic.

I see that you launched our code last Monday. Let me know if there any questions I can answer.

I have singed up with this company 10 days agos and still no reply from them .

The account manager and I were @ SEMA in Vegas last week. We got in early Monday morning, so i know he has a back log of work and applications to go through.

I'll let him know to respond to yours asap.

Thanks Brandon.

I've personally been on here for a few years, just didn't what to post anything about driving revenue on here that might seem like spam. So i kept a low profile.

and definitely no complaints on the cash front. BTW, congrats on the sale!

Im very confused by your site, there is no mention about how you pay out, and/or what shares of the click throw? view? time amount and/or Placement?

If you are looking for people that want to make money for themselves, that is usually what people look for, i saw nothing to entice me to sign up.

So i can not say if they are looking for a loyal base to sync with.

Marco van Herwaarden 11-14-2009 07:00 AM

Support on their services or questions regarding their signup process should be asked at their own website. vBulletin.org is not the place to get support for third-party services.

Agreed, the site is a bit dated and was purposely put together to be vague. We follow a slightly different approach, in that we don't want mass appeal. Instead, our account management team actively pursues sites that we feel would do well on our program. We have conference calls and web meetings to fully explain the details.

Through the site, we've had over 300 sign ups and accepted about 15 of them. As you can see, not a very good ratio. The majority of the sign ups are sites that are just starting out and looking for ways to monetize their forum.

Our general guidelines for getting accepted are: a minimum average of 200 currently active members, a minimum of 200 outbound links to eBay or Amazon.

We usually make exceptions for automotive focused sites because of our strategic partnership with eBay Motors and EPN.

The reason we're selective is because of the number of hits our script gets, around 15 million hits a day. So you can imagine the server resources and bandwidth that consumes. Also, sites that fall bellow our guidelines usually don't earn more than a couple dollars a day.

If you have any other questions, feel free to email us at info@DrivingRevenue.com

Marco, the original post had to do with legitimacy. No mention of support or signup process. As far as I'm aware, this thread is posted in the appropriate section, The Lounge. I see plenty of topics discussing Motorola Droid, Windows 7 and other commercial endeavors. I know you guys moderate with an iron fist, but why should this be thread be treated any differently?

BTW, I've spoken with Ray Morgan a few times and he seems to be impressed with our forum monetization strategies.

I installed the DrivingRevenue script on 6/17/10 and noticed that my Vibrant Media in-text ads (which still display) didn't generate any revenue on 6/18 or 6/19 (today). I'm wondering whether the DR script is interfering with the Vibrant links. If so, I need to solve that soon because I'm losing more revenue than I'm gaining.

Anyone else experience this and know how to get these two to play nice?

Have you checked with Vibrant to see if their reporting is updating?

Our script runs on thousands of sites that have Vibrant or Kontera, and there is no conflict or interaction between the scripts.

asabet 06-20-2010 02:47 AM

False alarm! Vibrant had just been slow in updating. Everything is working properly.

For what it's worth, I emailed both Vibrant and DrivingRevenue early this (Saturday) morning about the perceived problem. I got a very fast response from DrivingRevenue, which was great! The main thing I wanted to hear was that the two scripts have been used on other sites without problems, so when I heard that, I figured it was just delayed reporting from Vibrant.

Also, the revenue yesterday from DR was good! Better than average for what I make from Adsense or Vibrant in a day.

So far, so good with DrivingRevenue on our site.

DrivingRevenue 06-24-2010 03:08 PM

Glad to hear everything worked out.

Man, I still don't understand how this drivingrevenue works. Now they got bought by Viglink. I got a large forum but how do I make money with this?

it's pretty straight forward, we simply convert existing retailer links into affiliate links.

If the user clicking the link makes a purchase with the retailer within a specified time, you receive a percentage of the sale as commission for sending the traffic.

You simply install a few lines of JavaScript into the footer template. That's all there is to do.

BirdOPrey5 08-05-2010 03:06 PM

Why would I not just re-write my amazon and ebay links to add my own affiliate code using a mod like AME, which is what I currently do... are you able to offer better percentages then I could get on my own?

Marco van Herwaarden 08-05-2010 04:39 PM

Please ask such question on their own support forums, vBulletin.org is not the place for this.

I hear you, I will stop- but FYI they don't have support forums, at least not public ones.

Marco van Herwaarden 08-06-2010 03:05 AM

That is not our problem. ;)

But i assume that if they dont have a forum, they will have other means of contacting them with questions.

so you're basically hijacking all links and turning them in to personal affiliate links?

With Amazon most individuals can only attain the 4% commission revenue tier on their own, while we always hit the 8.5% tier. So with our normal 25% rev share, you'd receive 6.375% commission on Amazon sales. As for eBay, we properly affiliatize all eBay links in every country, the rewrite hack on this site, does not.

Also, we have roughly 12,500 affiliate programs in our system that we monetize, try managing that on your own, even with a dedicated staff it's difficult and time consuming.
