Move Custom Avatars from Database to Filesystem FAILS
I don't know what the deal is but I can't seem to move my custom avatars from the database to the filesystem. I was able to move all my attachments from the database to the filesystem just fine with no issues but when I try to do the same thing for my custom avatars it fails. Doesn't give me any kinda error or anything it just stops. Here's what happens...
are you using a mgc chat box?
Yes as a matter of fact I am =x
You have CHMODDED your folders correctly?
This is a windows server 2008 system, no CHOMODDING required. Also the fact that I can see the files being created on the filesystem tells me that is no read/write issue.
for MGC Chatbox 2.4.2 you must have you avatars in you databases or you going to get alots of error not only that your avatars wont show up... it did it to me 2..lol
Ok well I can understand that but should MGC Chatbox really be interfering with me being able to move the avatars from my database to my filesystem? I should still be able to move them if I want to but then like you said I might have issues with MGC Chatbox. That's fine but I still would like to know for sure if MGC Chatbox is what is actually causing this behavior. I suppose I could try uninstalling MGC Chatbox and see if that changes anything.
Any other ideas? |
Try disabling your modifications and see if it works.
Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit config.php and add this line right under <?php PHP Code:

Same thing, it only moves about 48 of the avatars and then just stops. I tried this on my other forum and it's doing the same exact thing as well. I don't understand what the heck the deal is.

Is there anything showing up in your error_logs (if you don't know where they are, ask your host)?
Well I am hosting the server myself it's sitting right next to me. I checked the logs but I didn't find anything.
I figured it out though, the issue was actually being caused by the Image Processing Library as well as MGC Chatbox! I had it set to ImageMagick 6 which apparently isn't working properly, and also MGC Chatbox causes some pretty bad database corruption issues if you try to change your avatar files location (moving from db to fs or vice versa). I had to change my image processing library from ImageMagick to GD and DISABLE my MGC Chatbox product and then move my avatars from the db to the fs. After I did that everything worked perfect. I would have never thought that MGC Chatbox would have had anything to do with any of this so Thanks again for your guys help and ideas  |
Glad you figured it out!
