vb.org access just to be sure!
There is a new vbulletin licensing option coming now with v4.
I gues many of us will not comply and stop supporting vBulletin, I don't want to discuss reasons and arguments here, that's going on enough on vb.com itself. But you will be getting a lot of customers with expired 3.8.x. licenses which are still legal, but not active anymore. Some people at vb.com are worried now and just to be sure, I thought all we needed for access and downloads of v3.8.x mods was a valid license. Or do we need an -active- valid license to be able to visit and download here? Question 2: If we need an active valid license, can this be changed? All owned licenses are lifetime licenses and legal to use even after expiration date. So it would be not more then normal that we can stay here and keep downloading mods here. I'm sure these questions are already answered somewhere, but people again are asking themselves this question. A renewal of the correct answer by a vb.org official or moderator would satisfy everybody I think. Thank you. |
has to be active and valid. Once it expires, you cant download anything from here.
|
That should be changed then, because we should be entitled to 3.8.x mods because the licenses are lifetime.
It's not fair when vb.org would close us down just because we don't want vb4. |
oh its closing for anyone that doesnt renew.
|
To be able to download hacks , post in certain posts or receive support here at vBulletin.org you have to prove that you have a valid vBulletin license.

Thank you HMBeaty.
So it does not matter if your license is expired, it just needs to be valid. Correct? |
As far as I am currently aware, that is correct.
|
Thank you very much!
This will take bring some rest to worried customers! |

Thank you for the confirmation Paul :)

oh thats cool, thought it had to be active.
|
Thank you both again.
And yes ChopSuy, some people over at vb.com were worried they could not use vb.org anymore if their license would expire. |
Oh that's something I hadn't thought of, but good to hear if we don't update to 4.0, we'll still have the same access we have now :)

Are we going to find out one day by not being able to log in that the system has changed? Would be nice of Marco to make a statement on behalf of vborg explaining this and what MIGHT be changed based on any (if any) discussions with IB.... |
