Why was my status changed?
 

My status was changed. It used to say "designer" and has now been changed to "Contributor" what's up with that? I know they started the new "Hatchery" thing, but why was certain peoples status changed and others left???? I mean I know that I have only uploaded one mod change up to this site, but what the heck? Why wasn't I at the very least notified that it was going to change?

It just has to do with release points. After you get so many releases/installs, you move up to Release Level 2 and get the Coder or Designer title.

I'll trade you. My designer title for your Contributor title? Better Still, Can I put in a request for a new title "Member"?

Like I tell everyone, Titles don't mean anything and you shouldn't look to much into it.

Yeah, see that one under Lynnes name... It means nothing. Moderator is just another name for banned.

I don't think we ever disclosed such a list.

Relax, it's at the bottom of the list and I believe the aim on that page is to grant everyone who's made a contribution as a coder or designer the right to be listed.

Anyway, I'm with Shelley - the title means absolutely nothing. There are tons of people with titles who don't even suite them, whether for better or worse :p

*Sigh of relief* a marriage made in heaven it was touch and go there for a second with the ole thumbs down gaining in prominence. So everyone is happy now, with their spiffy titles. Case closed. :D

Nothing wrong with that. Regardless of what automatic title may be applied to our individual account names, we are all a Member of the vB.org community. :)

It suits me. I have not released anything, and never would. Whilst I can tweak code and have "written" odd bits for my own site, I have no idea about good coding practices and security and wouldn't risk anything. Besides, I'd have no time to support it.

Mind you, if I really wanted such a title, I could have released a dozen really minor template edits that lots of people do on their sites, which is what some people seem to be doing and it gets them their titles. That makes me laugh a bit really. I mean, they are useful tweaks but they aren't what used to be called a "hack" and they certainly don't make people "Coders" or "Designers".

But I'm old skool and curmudgeonly.
